So I came up with this. Any insight at all would be very appreciated, as I am still relatively new to Magic. I don't intend to play tournaments, just casually, but i want to make this deck solid against other players' somewhat/not really competitive decks if that makes any sense
Also not sure if blue is needed enough to run counters and such when what u really want is to lay down the hordes of weenies, so i would probably take Diregraf Captain out as well and up the Cemetery Reaper, probably add in a few Gravedigger.
If you decide to take this in a mono black direction I would recommend using Grave Pact it's kind of expensive $ wise, however you could effectively wipe all of your opponents boards with your Carrion Feeder , Gravecrawler combination.
An acceptable alternative to your Diregraf Captains bleed ability when you sacrifice creatures is Vengeful Dead it has a higher CMC by 1, but also affects all opponents instead of just 1 making it useful for multiplayer games, bypasses player hexproof, and his ability activates if he dies as well plus he's cheap.
If you want to go mono black, but also want to keep counterspells, Dash Hopes is in my opinion a great card, and less than $1 a piece.
For bringing your zombies back from the graveyard Lord of the Undead is kinda expensive, but a great card for any zombie deck it's 3 cmc for a 2/2 with a built in anthem, and gives you repeated graveyard recursion.
Another good card for zombie decks is Gempalm Polluter he cycles for BB dealing damage equal to the number of zombies you control and letting you draw a card. Good value there, 2cmc to deal direct damage, and draw a card is pretty good. Plus he's cheap, a playset is $1
So Im planning on mixing in a few of these but Im ending up having at most about 3 mostly less of each spell. My creatures work out fine but is it a problem only having about 2 of each spell. They all would help in this deck, but should I just take some out and put in more of the other spells?
The interaction between ritual and having 16 1mana 2power creatures can be crazy.
Id also consider: undead warchief and $death baron$
While suicide black is a cool deck, does it really belong in a gravecrawler/blood artist combo deck? I kinda feel like that's a different strategy for a different deck.
OP, how is cemetary reaper working out? I've been underwhelmed by the card in the past, but I usually had other things to do with my mana.
I actually ended up taking it out It just wasn't as important I think as some of the other creatures and spells so I took it out and added more of other cards. Ill be posting the new decklist I'm still revising it.
4 Gravecrawler
4 Geralf's Messenger
4 Diregraf Ghoul
2 Cemetery Reaper

4 Temple of Deceit
3 Cavern of Souls

Highborn ghoul or Spiteful Returned is a suitable replacement.
And if u do have them thoughtseize or other cheap hand disruption.

Probably the most important is to add some mono black devotion cards like Whip of Erebos, Gray Merchant of Asphodel.
My Decks:
All my Decks are budget
EDH:GRWHazezon TamarGRW, RKazuul, Tyrant of the CliffsR, BMikaeus, the UnhallowedB, UTalrand, Sky SummonerU, GRXenagos, God of RevelsGR, BGPharika, God of AfflictionBG
Standard:BMono Black Control(devotion)B- retired
Casual:UWHeroicUW, UGWall tribalUG, BPhylactery LichB
Modern:UBAbyssal PersecutorUB, WKnight TribalW
Carrion Feeder + Gravecrawler also work well with Diregraf Captain/Blood Artist. You can nug them for 1 life for every B mana you have.
Carrion Feeder is a bit better than Accursed Centaur since you can sac a creature whenever to turn on morbid for Tragic Slip at instant speed.
You could use Unearth, Unholy Grotto, Immortal Servitude or Patriarch's Bidding to bring stuff back.

4 carnophage
4 dark ritual

Another really fun card is Call to the Grave
Although it'll be mostly useless if you can utilize Grave Pact , Gravecrawler
