I've recently gotten back into MtG, and I remember slivers from when I was younger. I was researching and it seems like if you are experienced, they can be a good quick strike deck that can really gang up on the opponents. My question is when I'm constructing a deck of 60-80 cards, which would be good to have and how many of each? I may want a Sliver Queen/Overlord, so I'm willing to play multiple colors or just use a Gemhide Sliver. I'd appreciate any advice.
I loved the heck out of slivers back in the day myself and recently constructed a casual G/W sliver deck to take advantage of 8 copies of pump slivers (which I highly recommend as your first eight slivers if you're going the aggro route). I started with 4 each of Sinew Sliver, Muscle Sliver, Metallic Sliver, Plated Sliver and Victual Sliver. From there I added a few more G/W slivers and various combat tricks and control cards to keep the battlefield clear.
My favorite sliver decks were of the Sliving Death variety. They usually included many utility slivers and 4 each of Living Death and Intuition. Add an assortment of other tricks to get slivers into the 'yard and ways to buy time until your army is reanimated and you're good to go.
Go with a 60 card deck (as is standard). More cards will give very inconsistent draws and you really want the best chance of seeing the best/most important slivers every game.
Enjoy...
This seems like the wrong spot for this... But I could be wrong.
That said, my suggestion is to go with EDH 5c Sliver Overlord deck, run Legion and Queen, cherry pick your favorite/best slivers, run cards like Conspiracy and changelings for added value. There are a lot of great options in the EDH/Commander section of the forums. If you haven't, try and pick up the slivers Premium Deck, it has a lot of the stuff you'd need including the Overlord.
EDIT: This is actually the wrong place for this thread. Hopefully I won't get infracted for replying, but I should warn that I believe this section of the forums is only for articles; there is a sticky in the subforum that indicates that you should not create new threads here. My suggestion is to flag a mod and see if they could move it for you, though I am not sure where!
I made my 60 card sliver deck 5 colors, all spells are creatures, and the lands are all nonbasic.
The core you should probably start with is this:
2-3 Crystalline sliver
2-3 shifting sliver
4 Muscle Sliver
4 Sinew Sliver
4 Gemhide Sliver
I also run 2 copies of Sliver Legion cause hes just a boss. Usually win more but he is still awesome.
