Blue/white mana

  • #1
I been doing some digging on the Internet and can't seem to find a current list of ways to get Blue/white Infinite mana. I'm trying to make a deck with those two colors and I need a lot of mana. I either need Infinite or something close to get a lot of mana. So I was wondering what are he best ways to achieve this??

I've been thinking of some infinite mana combos that can produce infinite white/blue mana and where you do not need cards of any other color.
But, besides, what do you plan doing with the mana?

The easiest combo at the moment that I can think of would probably with Pili-Pala and Grand Architect. You tap Pili-Pala and add two colorless mana to your mana pool because of Grand Architects ability, then you untap it using the two colorless mana and get one mana of any color you want - this can be done infinitely.

This would be another combo I know:
Another one would be using High Tide and Palinchron. You play High Tide and Palinchron, tap seven lands for Palinchron, get seven additional mana because of High Tide, untap seven lands, with the mana return Palinchron to your hand, play him again with your additional mana and do all the steps again and again...;)

I was thinking Gilded Lotus and something that could uptap it but I really don't want that many artifacts in my deck. The main idea is to use Ertai, Wizard Adept to counter everything that my oppentents played but then I can't seem to find a way to Untap him every time that I counter something. Which I'm then again forced to turn everything into an artifact in order to to Untap him or any other creature that I need to use here abilitys over and over every turn. I'm kinda stuck at that part and once I can fix that part everything else will fall in to place. So if you know of any ideas that would be helpful.

If you are going for "counter everything my opponents do" with infinite mana, then I suggest you use Painter's Servant (set to red), and Douse. When combined with any infinite blue mana engine (like the aforementioned Pili-Pala Grand Architect combo), you can counter all your opponent's spells. Add Azorius Guildmage to the mix and you can counter all of your opponent's activated abilities as well. This leaves them triggered abilities, things that can't be countered, and tapping for mana. You don't need any additional setup for untapping things or making them artifacts so that you can untap them.

Using the Pili-Pala engine also allows you to make infinite mana whenever you need it, as opposed to the Palinchron one (barring flash shenanigans). Just remember that you have to make Pili-Pala blue first to get it going. Additional Painter's Servants can be used to make your stuff blue, which works well with Grand Architect.

I will caution you though, this is not the kind of deck you play often. Nobody likes to play against hard lock decks, especially ones that can stop everything (and I mean everything) but triggered abilities. I would make sure you have a very quick win condition, because dragging out a locked down game with more then 2 people is not fun. Something like Blue Sun's Zenith would work (infinite mana and all). This would be a "play it every once in a while and only once a night" kind of deck if you build it right. Just my thoughts on the subject.

Your initial ideas concerning Guilded Lotus and so on sound interesting but not very consistent.
I like the ideas of manaman22, they really sound playable, but in this suggested deck Ertai, Wizard Adept would not stay the core card of the deck anymore.
If you want to stay with Ertai, Wizard Adept, then it is true that the Palinchron combo would not be useful...
But I've got another idea, try Arcane Laboratory, it is quite a good lock together with Ertai, Wizard Adept, very similar to the lock that it creates with Erayo, Soratami Ascendant. Then you would not have to play any infinite mana combos and would still be able to counter every spell ;). Then the traditional counter-package with Brainstorm, Daze and others to guarantee that you can play your key-cards and optionally a nice finisher, maybe a Jace (anyone).

Have Gold myr, Silver myr and 2 Myr galvanizer out on the table.

Tap Gold myr and Silver myr for white mana and blue mana . Use one of these mana (or whatever you have remaining in you mana pool). to use Myr galvanizer's ability, to untap all myrs.

Then you tap you myrs for mana once again, Use the second myr galvanizer to untap once again (for either blue mana or white mana or whatevever you have left in your mana pool).

    Repeat until infinity

LoL I for got to say that I'm putting Rings of Bearthheart is this deck. I didn't manage to find a few blue creatures to Untap creatures with and with the rings i can just Untap the same creature infinite times. As far as core cards I have a few if you add Serra Avatar, and a couple others ones. All ready had Azorius Guildmage in he deck. As far as mana goes I was still thinking of Gilded Lotus mainly cause of the fact Its less cards in he deck and that I can throw other cards to make this deck more fun. I'll post what I have in my deck In a couple of hours.

    x2 Azorius Guildmage
    x2 Filigree Stages
    x2 Wall of Reverence
    x2 Angelic Chorus
    x2 Serra Avatar
    x2 Well of Dreams
    x2 Rings of Brighthearth
    x2 Leyline of Singularity
    x1 Mana Vault
    x1 Lotus Petal
    X1 Soul Ring
    x2 Doubling cube
    x2 Mox Opal
    x1 Ajani Goldmage
    x1 Venser, the Sojourner

I plan on taking some of them out and switching out how I draw for cards like having [c]
Consecrated Sphinx[/c]. And since I play with a lot of people that have x4 of each card that would be able to use Leyline of Singularity to slow them down. Any other suggestions would be help full.

You're a good 35 cards short of a full deck here. Shed some light on what else you have in there. At least give us an idea of your manabase. I can already tell you you need to focus what you are doing. Whatever happened to your "counter all the spells" plan?

My guess is that I could take out some of my mana producing cards and put in Gilded Lotus and Consecrated Sphinx and Ertai, Wizard Adept. Two copies of each of puppet strings or what ever allows me to Untap my creatures.

My words in your mouth .

    @AJScott26
You've got loads of good cards in your deck, but most of them do not make any sense, you should fill your deck only with cards that support your basic strategy somehow.
Puppet Strings is not a good way to untap your Ertai, Wizard Adept because you can only untap him once (and when I take a look at your deck you actually would have enough mana to counter several spells each turn ;)). I would probably try Crab Umbra or Pemmin's Aura. Both can protect your creature (the first one by Totem Armor, the second ony by giving it shroud) but Pemmin's Aura is the better way since untapping is cheaper (although I love Crab Umbra's Artwork :cool2:).

The whole Idea was to use Filigree Sages to Untap Puppet Strings while at he same time Untapping Gilded Lotus but i do like the Pemmin's Aura idea. Consecrated Sphinx is used to draw my deck out faster. I could always use some thing that could draw my whole deck but I want to give them somewhat of a chance. Since I'm going to be playing against artifacts I'm going to have Mizzium Transreliquat to destory any artifact with the Legendary rule. Along with a way to bring back that card. I do plan on putting a white creature that can raise its Defence of one plains and two colorless to block an additional creature. Can't think of the name of it is.
