The mechanic is that there is a phase, after combat damage, when creatures are still in combat and can be untapped...allowing me to work around the drawback of the extert ability.
I will probably add 2 Glare of Subdual to abuse the fact that all my creatures will be untapped.
I'm looking for more suggestions to add. Feel free to suggest.
I built a white/red exert deck (in order to use the "exert lord" Resolute Survivors) and it featured a 1-of Reconnaissance. In addition to that I ran Brave the Sands and a few copies of Always Watching since you really need to draw one of those enchantments and Reconnaissance itself isn't good in multiples. As far as other noncreature cards to include, I had a few Stitcher's Grafts.
I don't understand the inclusion of Glare of Subdual since the whole point is that you don't want to tap your creatures. Reconnaissance can only untap them if they're attacking creatures in combat.
Whenever I see a card like Reconnaissance that says "0: ...target creature...", my first thought is that it could give Daru Spiritualist infinite toughness until end of turn. But it probably wouldn't be a very good fit in your deck because it would be a 3 or 4 card combo.
Bomat Courier has been an all-star in my Rec decks. It's frequently a 1 mana draw 7 if you manage to dodge mass removal. If people kill it, doesn't matter, you traded 1-for-1. That being said it's bonkers when it survives. Godo, Bandit Warlord is also nuts.
Look, I know this is a ridiculously-priced piece of cardboard, but... Batterskull. I've seen a Glorybringer wearing one before, and it was utter wreckage.
For a more budget version, I guess Basilisk Collar is probably in play. It wouldn't hand out vigilance like Batterskull does (and thereby giving you a second route to working around Exert), but it would basically turn Glorybringer into something that kills on sight, and also make stuff like Combat Celebrant and Najeela something you don't want to be blocking (should Reconnaissance get knocked off the table).

Side note: B.Skull is very good with Godo, Bandit Warlord in general. Even assuming no combos no nothing it has Vigilance so it gets to attack twice when Godo swings.
1) It's cheaper to cast/equip
2) Deathtouch allows to kill big stuff with the 4 damage blast
Still, I dont think I will run that equipment because it's not that strong if Glorybringer isn't in play...it doesn't have a strong interaction with anything else in the deck (except maybe survivors...it would net me more life if the collar was equipped but that's about it).
Update...added 2 Brave the sands...I initially thought that exerting a creature would tap it. I realized my mistake =). I also switched Skullclamp for Bomat Courier
Yeah, taking out Skullclamp in a 24 creatures deck kinda feels bad but I have 50ish clamps spread around 39 decks so I like to come up with new ways to draw cards so I'm willing to give Bomat Courier a chance =)
