To be honest, I was so underwhelmed with Ixalan, I haven't even paid attention to spoilers for the next set. Still, that could be just because I'm picky about block-themed decks, and most of my card choices/deck revolve around interesting mechanics or color combinations. Lorwyn, Alara, Ravnica, and Kaladesh have been the only settings I've built set-themed decks in recent memory, Ravnica entries being decks that don't hold to the set but instead hold to the flavor of a given guild.
Will swap Etali, Primal Storm in for Inferno Titan into a Red deck (haste is pretty easy to come by and 4 free cards / attack could possibly be useful)
Silent Gravestone - if it proves unnecessary in a game, at least it can replace itself
I'm probably always going to be better off using Turn 5 for Gary, but it sure would be fun to mark 5 creatures before resolving Tetzimoc, Primal Death in Turn 6 (or hold it up until Cabal Coffers is online and use it like a Hex on Turn 8)
Oh this card will see endless play alongside Phyrexian Rager in decks that have cards like Viscera Seer, Zulaport Cutthroat, Contamination, Recurring Nightmare, Grave Pact, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Living Death, Dictate of Erebos, Razaketh, the Foulblooded and thongs of other cards that require "stuff." Phyrexian Rager has always been one of Black's strongest 3 drops and this card is many orders of magnitude more powerful given that it's a full mana cheaper. I ordered 20 of these in my Rivals order and already have homes for all of them. It legitimately might be the strongest overall multiplayer Black 2 drop creature. Don't get me wrong, cards like Bloodghast, Basilica Screecher and Reassembling Skeleton can easily supplant it when certain conditions are met, but in terms of cards that you're never unhappy to draw and cast this might be the overall winner. As much as I love curving Reassembling Skeleton/Bloodghast/Endless Cockroaches into Contamination into Grave Pact there's plenty of games where your "payoff" spells get removed at which point you're stuck with a do-nothing 1/1s and 2/1s that legitimately don't do anything. Cards like Dusk legion Zealot are never dead because they constantly dig you into action while still filling a similar role. I'm still going to play 2x Reassembling Skeleton because the card has very high highs but I also want to support them with something like 4x Dusk legion Zealot because the floor on that card is significantly higher. Whereas I never want to see multiple Skeles or any variation thereof I'm relatively happy to draw any number of cantripping threats.
In terms of Devotion a fairly mindless deck can be something like Dusk Legion Zealot -> Phyrexian Rager -> Gonti, Lord of Luxury -> Gray Merchant of Asphodel. You get your Black plips and your card draw to help make your land drops and dig for your Garys. These cards are also great if you're fielding Living Death since your primary weakness is going to be mass removal and so if your 2, 3 and 4 drops are all drawing additional cards then you're virtually never going to run out of gas even if you're not fielding more traditional draw spells/engines such as Phyrexian Arena, Syphon Mind and Necrologia. Zealot also makes a card like Unearth significantly more reliable since you're always getting your card back (while fueling your Devotion) whereas the same cannot said if you're simply nabbing something like Gifted Aetherborn, Basilica Screecher, Cuombajj Witches or Crypt Rats.
Do you guys Think Blood Sun is worth a shot in Decks like Simic Burgeoning
No, the card is heinous in that archetype. TEMUR Burgeoning on the other hand...
No, but seriously, I'd really liking the card as a 2-of. I'm currently playing with 4x Burgeoning 2x Summer Bloom and 2x Blood Sun and it feels like the right mix. You still have 6 broken ways to go off by turn 2 but you also have 2 additional backup draws if needed. If not, no biggie, they cycle.
Which cards are you looking forward to?
I’m looking at:
Some are just efficient, others intrigue me.
My meta: 3 or 4 player free for all, anything goes but boring games or broken decks cause a vote to end that game.
Slaughter the Strong - nice cheap semi board wipe
Induced Amnesia - will be going right into my Auratog deck
Forerunner of the Coalition - Each opponent goodness
Gruesome Fate - Each opponent goodness. Will prolly try this out with Nest of Scarabs/Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons.
Twilight Prophet - Each opponent goodness but it does require you to jump through some hoops
Ravenous Chupacabra - Just like everyone else will be
Huatli, Radiant Champion - Doesn't seem to difficult to get a permanent Beck // Call effect
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Big beater with abilities, I like
Don't think Path of Mettle will convince me to finally get around to that Assemble the Legion deck.
I'm tired of thopters & myr, so will probably leave Storm the Vault alone for a while (though I may find myself playing more Aura Shards, Fracturing Gusts and Bane of Progress).
There are also a few that could be jammed in EDH (either because they repeat an effect from a better card in the singleton format, or they require a longer game): Zacama, Primal Calamity, Wayward Swordtooth, Azor's Gateway, Arch of Orazca, Brass's Bounty...
Sneak Attack, Feldon of the Third Path, Mimic Vat, Faithless Looting... kill people with their own decks FTW..

Seems like a fun idea but I'd wanna take it one step further and get all the cool new fatty dinos involved; Zacama, Primal Calamity, Zetalpa, Primal Dawn and Ghalta, Primal Hunger.
Maybe sneak in a World Shaper for some self mill into ramp and slap a Karmic Guide under a Mimic Vat for some recursive fun.
There really isn't. It's the first card that I tried to break with things like Perilous Research, Brago, King Eternal, Notion Thief and Alms Collector. The card just sucks and isn't worth building around :(.
