Was free thinking some of the mechanics I abandoned in my token edh, and some other decks, decided to free-think a Gruul token generator deck. Comments are welcome.
If you can get even 2-3 creatures out there, this deck can easily create 20+ tokens and wipe out your opponent's board for a mere 5-6 mana. Kind of amazed that the card isn't already in there.
Personally, I'd abandon the Clan Defiance and Overrun to grab blasphemous act and Chain Reaction (for more damage that churns out tons of tokens while clearing the board).
Edit: I might also replace 1-2 copies of both Nullmage and Arachnogenesis for copies of Parallel Lives (doubling your tokens), Mycoloth (consuming tokens to create more tokens), Pandemonium (allowing each of your tokens to hit something when it comes out), or Volcano Hellion (which lets you pay any amount of life to grab that many tokens when it comes out in this deck).
Seriously though, the idea I hatched today while my son was playing at a museum was to use the first blast spell to then power Xenagos to power Clan Defiance, and maybe then also blast Hostility, but I can see that's more Rube Goldberg than it needs. I immediately thought of B Act but my Blendo deck abuses that card already. Though, the benefit of the B Act is that I can drop Vigor, then a 1 cmc Act, and it's effectively game over. Changes to come after I check a few things, but there are plenty of slots to swap cards.
Edit: Lol, went back and looked at the list and I totally missed adding in Chain Reaction, which was supposed to be the blast spell originally included. Oy, that was a miss!

I hear what you're saying and I feel you but you can't look at the best possible card for your deck (and by many orders of magnitude at that) and pass on it for such a trivial reason. You owe it to yourself and your deck to include them.
OK, so the entry is here under Shiva Engine, but just re-thought Blendo. Had just enough slots to blend into a Jund deck. Now, instead of dropping B Act and being in the same board state as the survivors, why not have a heaping helping of creatures? Curve is somehwat lower, deck grindier, but Hissing Iguanar and Blood Artist are more deadly, and I can bring back B Act numerous times for repeated abuse.
Oooo, big boom. Me like, but won't work in the Jund Blendo list I most recently posted. The usefulness of B Act can't be overstated as more creatures are in play. 1 cmc lets me tack that on to the end of a Twilight's Call for the same cmc 7 cost. So what that enables me to do is blow everything up for R, do my thing with creature generators and damage reflection. Either immediately next or the following turn, spend six to cast Twilight's Call, which then brings any Eternal Witnesses used into play (along with all damage reflectors and critter generators that makes Blendo effective), which then brings the B Act back to my hand, then cast B Act for R. For a max cost of 8, I could B Act twice, and easily outpaces Star of Extinction for a mere one more cmc. Rune Goldberg machine, sure, but easily feasible.
Understand, however, most games will end with simply playing Twilight's Call to jam the boards with all victim critters, damage reflectors, and finally Blood Artists and Hissing Iguanars and then casting B Act. The 8 mana thing I described is unlikely to be needed, even if feasible.
