I'm in the process of building a new deck for casual Multiplayer games.
We are 3 to 5 players that gather in our MTG evenings.
I've got the Rakdos, Lord of Riots card from the Return to Ravnica serie and I was thinking about building a deck base on its cost reduction ability and, at the same time, I wanted to use the fact that I can do some repetitive damage but to all the opponents / players at the same time for maximum effectiveness.
So basically, I had in mind:
1. Lifelink to replenish the damage done
2. Bloodthirst to gain advantage with damage done to opponent in addition to Rakdos
3. Need some cards that makes me draw to keep a minimum hand size.
The Griselbrand, Skarrgan Firebird, and Rakdos Ragemutt goes with this thinking but can be exchange without problems.
The Vampire Nighthawk makes a nice defense early on with a bit of lifelink opportunity.
The Browbeat can be used for either the damage done or the cards draw.
That should actually be sufficient. Right now, Rakdos, Lord of Riots is the only card that's imposing harsh restrictions on your mana base (presuming that you want to be able to cast him on turn 4) but 9 dual lands should put you in pretty good shape.
Am I too scarce on the availability of the low casting costs cards? I basically begin at CVC of 2 with the Swiftfoot Boots and most of the damage dealing creatures are at 3..
Neheb, the Eternal is a great supplement to Rakdos. You may want more colorless creatures to be able to cast off of Rakdos's ability. You really want to be able to use the cost reduction the turn you cast Rakdos. Any of the Eldrazi work well for this. I'm also a big fan of Nullstone Gargoyle to help protect against removal. Knollspine Dragon is great for refilling your hand after dropping an army with Rakdos.
Pyrohemia or PestilenceDemon can help keep the board clear while also providing damage triggers.
For a total of 38 Cards
Good deal of draw effect to keep a good hand and find the Rakdos
Good amount of direct damage, sometime to multiples opponents at same time
Got a few lifelink to help with the life count
Good blocking / attacking creatures.
I just hope that the mana drop won't be a problem... Might have to eliminate another 2 cards to have a 36/24 ratio..
You can probably drop two ogres. You'll have enough haste with two of them plus three boots, I'd think.
You can probably do better than Recover, unless you have specific reasons to run that. (like Phyrexian Reclamation...)

In magic there's Harry Dresden, Fizban, Sethra Lavode, Dorotea Senjak and me...
My meta: 3 or 4 player free for all, anything goes but boring games or broken decks cause a vote to end that game.

So this is the deck I have so far:
3 Rakdos, Lord of Riots
4 Lobber Crew
4 Night Market lookout
4 Vampire Nighthawk
3 Skarrgan Firebird
2 Griselbrand
4 Rakdos Ragemutt
4 Browbeat
4 Recover
3 Earthquake
So basically, I had in mind:
1. Lifelink to replenish the damage done
2. Bloodthirst to gain advantage with damage done to opponent in addition to Rakdos
3. Need some cards that makes me draw to keep a minimum hand size.

Any suggestion from the community?
Mana discount is colorless, maybe a few creatures with a high colorless mana cost?
What will you run for lands?

I got 4 Dragonskull summit, 4 Rakdos Guildgate and 1 Blood crypt. The rest is Mountain and Swamp for now.
How about Swiftfoot Boots?

I've seen the Champion's helm for backup to boost the strength and protect my main creatures Rakdos, Lord of Riots and Griselbrand.
Could try to work a change for 2 Dragonlord Kolaghan too for the haste ability.
I just stumble upon the Thunder Brute. Not bad but still a big casting cost.
On the other hand, some Anger might also do the trick!
With those, It could be a pretty strong deck. Just a bit slow if I don't start with a Rakdos in the 4 first turns...
But it does paint a target on you...

3 Rakdos, Lord of Riots
4 Lobber Crew

4 Vampire Nighthawk
4 Anger
2 Rakdos Ragemutt
2 Dragonlord Kolaghan
2 Skarrgan Firebird
2 Griselbrand
3 Browbeat

Anything past 5 drops I run mostly colorless bombs.
1 Sire of Insanity
1 Steel Hellkite
1 Knollspine Dragon
1 Sandstone Oracle
1 Kozilek, Butcher of Truth
1 Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger
So I think I'll start with a first (final) draft of my deck being as follow:
3 Rakdos, Lord of Riots
4 Lobber Crew
2 Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh
4 Vampire Nighthawk
4 Ogre Battledriver
2 Neheb, the Eternal
2 Wurmcoil Engine
2 Knollspine Dragon
2 Pestilence Demon
2 Griselbrand
3 Browbeat
3 Recover
Artifacts
3 Swiftfoot Boots
2 Champion's helm
Land
1 Reliquary Tower
For a total of 38 Cards
Good deal of draw effect to keep a good hand and find the Rakdos
Good amount of direct damage, sometime to multiples opponents at same time
Got a few lifelink to help with the life count
