Well I finally got my hands on a bunch of Merfolk cards. I put together this deck and I just want some feedback. It's preforming well in duels but I want to try it out in multiplayer. They never work out the same but I think it can hold it's own. I figure I've got a bit of draw and a lot of pump. I was going to go down the Merfolk mill route but there is a lot of mill hate in my playgroup. YOU LOSE FIRST! So this is what I have so far. Let me know what you think
I'd wanna max out the number of Lord of Atlantis @ 4.
After that, around 3 is a good number of Master of the Pearl Trident,Coralhelm Commander & Merrow Reejery, for a great core to start with, to go with your Silvergills.
After that you have plenty of space to pop in whatever win-con you feel like.
Multiplayer Merfolk is a really fun deck to play with lots of variety. You might thin the number of Merfolk and balance out the deck a bit. Here's my current Multiplayer Merfolk deck for comparison. Islandwalking Wake Thrasher is usually the win condition. This deck performs very well against my playgroup.
Play 4 Master of the Pearl Trident, 4 Lord of Atlantis and 4 Merrow Reejery, and you'll never lose against your friends.
... lol. Considering that turn 2 Signet turn 3 Wrath is a viable line in a million different Control/Midrange/Ramp shells I find that hard to believe...
I find it can be easy or VERY HARD to win with my Fish deck. Once a Wrath resolves, it's pretty much game over for the merfolk. My current approach is to run a few Counterspells/Arcane Denials, but we typically play 4 person FFA or star, where I only have 2-3 opponents. Any larger and I'd probably go with the Eldrazi Monument + token strategy (which probably also requires adding White).
As was mentioned above, the core for a Fish deck includes the following:
4 Stonybrook Banneret
3 Wistful Selkie
3 Master of the Pearl Trident
3 Merfolk Sovereign
3 Merrow Harbinger
3 Merrow Reejery
3 Wanderwine Prophets
2 Silvergill Adept
2 Grimoire Thief
2 Surgespanner
2 Cold-Eyed Selkie
2 Deepchannel Mentor
2 Rootwater Matriarch
1 Lord of Atlantis

Personally I think a number of good stuffs, like Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, Rite of Replication, Cyclonic Rift, Clone etc. could be useful, but it depends what you're after. Nyx is great here if you wanna include massive mana win-con's.
If creatures is what you want to drive home, maybe a single Wonder, some Door of Destinies?
But if you feel like being a mean blue player > which is what Fish is usually all about, feel free to include some Equilibrium, Back to Basics etc.

As was mentioned above, the core for a Fish deck includes the following:
From there, you might consider additional Lords - Merrow Reejerey and maybe 1-2 Merfolk Sovereigns.
For card draw, there is Bident of Thassa, Coastal Piracy, Sygg, River Cutthroat, and Cold-Eyed Selkie.
Other cards I think are interesting (irrespective of budget) include Jitte, Nykthos, Mutavault (I cast Aquitect's Will on these fairly often so I can tap them for U), Cavern of Souls, Shapesharer (tends to last a bit longer than Phantasmal Image in a MP setting), and Wake Thrasher.
Oh, and I happen to be up to 23 lands in my current iteration. I might need 24.
