I'm surprised Door of Destinies hasn't been mentioned yet. It costs 1 less than Coat of Arms, but the downside is you have to play spells of your tribe to get its benefits. The upside is that it's a one-sided pump effect. A very solid play off of a turn 2 Priest or Rofellos.
I had a friend that used to play Biorhythm with his elf weenie deck which worked out quite well. He would force us to block with lure and kill with something I can't remember, then slap down a biorhythm. It can actually come out quite fast with accel.
Rhys's ability to double tokens is pretty sweet, you can completely soup up any elf warrior card. Don't forget Presence of gond which can give you a nice huge army with Nettle Sentinel.
I didnt add any combo because combo on casual is lame (it makes other player take an hiatus). Although the deck is fast enough (if piloted properly). I went top4 on a Legacy tournament with the deck and went top8 on a Vintage tournament (sideboard varies).
Its pretty damn good 1on1 and does fairly on multiplayer (especially when paired with decks that run Limited Resources)
Like what I said, its pretty damn fast (can consistently pull off a turn 4 kill) and a 1stturnTalara's Battalionis pretty sweet sometimes.

I am convinced that WotC is "dumbing" the game because of all the stupid posts they come across on MTG-related forums
Here's an old-school elf that a lot of newer players tend to have forgotten: Llanowar Sentinel (Weatherlight). A staple of many older casual elf decks, the Sentinel is capable of generating massive card advantage with even a single Cradle, Rofellos, or PoT in play, since for what is essentially a kicker of 2 per repetition, you can search your library for a 2/3 and put it directly into play. At 3 toughness the Sentinel can survive most common anti-elf cards like Pyroclasm or Massacre, while the number of creatures it puts into play sets your next turn up perfectly for something like Overrun or even just a regular all-out attack backed up by pump spells.

This is amazing in a mono-green deck, and even better in a WG deck. Priest of titania is no longer useless in the later game(except for when mana burn is removed in M10)
I'm actually making a forestwalk elf deck right now, and this is one of the staples in case your opponent does not control a forest. Then make them control one.
Remember Tideshaper Mystic+Lord of Atlantis? Well that's what this is.
This isn't a combo, more like a card string. But it's cheap. everything is invincible to combat damage. And if your opponent thinks it's funny to unsummon stuff and play cryptic command, well they can't do that anymore. Any hilarious attempts to block so will result in massive pumps. Oh wait, the defending player might control a forest.
4 mana for what SHOULD be at least a 6/6 when you play it, plus the ability it can only be matched in power? I'm sorry, but that is just absolutely insane.
Jagged-Scar Archers
Elves don't have too much protection from flying. But run some of these babys, and you can kill flying creatures without actually taking any damage. Like drove of elves, 3 mana for at least a 5/5 when it comes into play? That's just sick.
Also remember to buy the new elvish champions as the 8th edition ones suck.
I need a little help adjusting my deck. Ive been playing with it and it has been pretty slow. Im in need of some more elf token producers. I was considering cards such as Rhys the Redeemed, Elvish Archdruid, Wolf-Skull Shaman, Door of Destinies or Coat of Arms, Immaculate Magistrate. I am debating on whether to keep elvish vanguard and or cutting 2 lys huntmasters out. Trying to get more aggro elf tokens.
*Drop all tutors and raise the quality of the creatures drop
*Quirion Ranger let you play with few forests
*Symbiote saves your creatures from spot removal
*Taunting Elf + Timberwatch Elf = mass removal or big finish
*Priest let you play all your elves
*Crossroads let your deck roll over
*Few lands will raise the quality of your draws
Expensive cards suggested: ESG, Crossrodas and Priest of Titania. But all those will really improve your play.
Hope being helpful

These are the changes i made before i saw your post Halted Asylum. Im considering cutting elvish harbinger, and lys alana huntmaster , and ambush commander so that is 7 openings.
You have some good points but it feels like the changes you made accelerate the deck but loses its "power". Only card left is really timberwatch elf.
You probably won't need either of them If you're running Coat of Arms. I stopped running Heedless One's and Drove of Elves in my Elf deck as soon as I found out how fast the deck went.

I'm debating whether to run everyone's favorite 1 mana elf, or the sentinel, or both. Overrun also seems good but also seems like potential overkill with the perfect and paragon. Door of Destinies also seems quite good (although which would be better, set to elves or warriors?). I know about Elvish Vanguard, but he's ~ $3.50 a pop and if I did get this deck next I would want it on the cheap, to an extent. I could always go back later and get him anyway.
Sanity's_Eclipse: i've been working on a similar deck with my Lorwyn Elven Precon. But i let it with an Elfball scent (ol' elfball, not Glimpse Elves). I realized that to this deck to get near to impressive, the burst of mana is necessary, so Heritage/Sentinel "combo" is really necessary.
Ambush is really trick: removal plus tokens!
I also think Overrun is overkill, you just surpass opponent's critters in number very easily, and with all the pump, it's hard to deal with.
Also it's a very cheap deck.
This is a quick and dirty mock up design I came up with with very little knowledge of either block (I quit at onslaught and just came back with alara). My basic concept is lifegain as an alt win in a semi aggro driven build. The land base will be heavily green relying on channelers for the consume spirit win condition.
Drove of Elves would be good if you consider heedless one decent. While it does lack the trample, it does offer troll shroud. Plus if you are running things like Chameleon colossus and Gaea's Anthem, it will benefit from that as well as the elves in play. I have her in a elf deck that uses overrun's so the lack of trample doesnt hurt so much, also might toss in some rancors.
Get those on some elves and even if the board is cleared they go back to your hand.
Lastly, Rhys the Redeemed seems to pair fairly well if you are making a elf token deck. If you are running Imperious Perfects and Elvish Promenade, the second ability quickly makes him a creature you opponent will have to deal with or you can start pumping out tons of tokens in a short order.
Just noticed you didn't have those listed. Granted I am new and just looking to get into extended play some, so I maybe wrong and overrating them a bit.
Has anyone tried running G/B Command Elves? It works like Ball elves but you use Profane Commands Lose X life ability(and give your creatures fear if you want)
I am currently in the process of developing a "Cookie Cutter" Elf Ball Deck that uses some of the more recent things which have become available. Such as:
Heritage Druid
Nettle Sentinel
Elvish Archdruid
Those will be the main mana producers i went with Archdruid over Priest as the bonuses can defend you against the likes of Volcanic fallout sweeping your field.
Glimpse of nature is going to be there so once you start comboing cards with Heritage Druid and Nettle Sentinel, you can play more spells and increase your chance of drawing Banefire or the next card:
Manamorphose allows for you to add Green red to your pool easily, under the right circumstances, this could be an easy turn 4-7 kill.
Manamorphose allows for you to add Green red to your pool easily, under the right circumstances, this could be an easy turn 4-7 kill.
I suggest running Birchlore Rangers for your red source. Not only does it go very well with Glimpse but it supports your Banefire I run 4 in my Elfball/Progenitus deck in Legacy and it has continued my card draw plenty of times. I highly recommend it.
Not many people like me running Land Grant, but there's nothing worse then getting a dead draw like a forest with an early game Glimpse. So if you draw Land Grant you can thin out your deck even more. I usually can either win turn 2 by playing my entire deck and burn with a Banefire for the win, or on a bad hand I can bring out Progenitus turn 2 or 3 if I'm running a slow hand. Hopefully that decklist can give you some ideas.
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but I thought I'd throw out a fairly fun combo elf deck that is unique in it's being green/blue. imperious perfect + llanowar elves (or similar mana producing elf) + intruder alarm. all the sudden you have a never ending army of elf tokens!
Avatar, I would suggest finding room for Priest of Titania in your decklist. It provides a huge amount of mana, is only a two drop, and has excellent synergy with Quirion Ranger.
