I have always wanted to build a deck using creatures such as Maggot Carrier and Howling Banshee. It wasn't until the release of Jumpstart that I put it to deck. It is a fun little deck that I enjoy playing from time to time. It isn't an overly powerful deck but it is fun to play. I changed the deck to utilize death triggers instead of ETB triggers.
The obvious question is "Why isn't Exsanguinate? Budget. I wanted to keep this deck budget friendly. I wanted it under $20 dollars. Seeing that most of these cards are considered ok, the deck (without the lands) cost $19.50 (buying mint cards).
Using Altar's Reap keeps you drawing some cards while Victimize Brings back 2 creatures to sacrifice again to Ayara, First of Locthwain or Bone Splinters.
While Altar's Reap was an upgrade to Skulltap, it itself has gotten upgraded versions in Costly Plunder (which would allow you to capitalize on artifacts if you end up including a bunch) and Village Rites.
Some mass removal spell could also work well for you: getting rid of an overcrowded board while hitting your opponent hard with all your guys dying.

3x Ayara, First of Locthwain
4x Nocturnal Feeder
3x Caustic Hound
3x Altar's Reap
1x Bankrupt in Blood
4x Victimize
3x Blood Tithe

As for creatures dying, Bastion of Remembrance, Blood Artist, Falkenrath Noble, and Zulaport Cutthroat can make you capitalize on that even more.
Malakir Rebirth may be worth including.
