I and a mate are starting out with Magic, with 15 or so years of miniwargaming behind us. So far its very much same, same, but different. For my mate the low prep time (no time / opportunity to paint) and quick games are a blessing.
Now, my partner would also be ready to play with us, at least when we do constructed. She's not up to making a deck by herself but we've been throwing a few ideas around - the end being a spider deck. It's not a strict theme (i.e. there can be other creatures too), but there should be a lot of spiders around (Ishkanah could be one). And it should be rather brutal or stingy (full with [Murder] and such). Unfortunately I am not too aware what is in the library of older cards (been looking at cards only a year and mostly at Standard sets). Here I turn to you
Any ideas how to start? Or fun and brutal cards that could fit or just otherwise support spiders?

Assuming the theme is Spiders, but also kind of accepting of miscellaneous "insect, vermin" type flavor, you could do a budget -1/-1 counter deck along the lines of:
Basically you have a bunch of stuff that synergizes with -1/-1 counters, which happens to make insects or do something gross. Other cards that are vaguely interesting like Splendid Agony work too.
EDIT: Replaced Die Young, it doesnt do what I thought haha.
Only card that doesnt fit brutal//murdery//insecty is Die Young which is unfortunately the only efficient -1/-1 counter putter.
And it's even more unfortunate, that is doesn't put any -1/-1 counters out. It just gives a temporary -x/-x effect, no counters involved. So yeah, this doesn't fit at all.
After some thinking and planning, I ended up going something quite close to your deck Stille_Nacht. I left Fume Spitters, Necroskitters and Skinrenders out to begin with. In came 2 of the more mundane Necropede, 2 Treasured Find, but more importantly 2 Spider Spawning and 2 Terrifying Presence (just for the flavour).
In terms of land I added 2 scry lands and 3 evolving wilds (for delirium).
The spitters and skitters are a good upgrade, to make the -1/-1 counters more abundant and dangerous. For now I keep the focus on the spiders (to sell the deck). There are bunch of spiders on the bench, including the Assault Formation and Channeler Initiate (if more ramp will ever be needed). There's also a weenies sub-theme to this that would be fun to develop further as a second aspect of the deck. For instance with Rotwidow Pack and poison tip archers?
Uh, careful with Necropede. Infect is a super powerful mechanic, but splitting between creatures with and without infect is an issue as infect creatures don't affect the opponent's life total.

Thanks! I've been looking at the spider cards at Gatherer, but I've missed the Arachnus Web. Definitely something I'll look into.
Swarmyard looks promising indeed. Thanks for the tip!
Spiders seem to have big butts, so a Huatli, Sun's Heart or three doesn't look too bad...
