Hi again! I'm planning to build a deck around one of my favorite cards, Godhead of Awe, in conjunction with Pride of the Clouds and other tiny creatures with flying, thus making the Godhead effective against the opponent only:
One way to benefit from the Godhead is to play with creatures that enter the battlefield with +1/+1 counters. Since the power/toughness setting effect of the Godhead is applied before counters, those creatures not only have their full power/toughness as determined by their counters, but are usually even bigger because their normal base power/toughness of 0/0 is increased to 1/1. For example, you could run things like Shinewend or modular creatures. In that way, the Godhead would function pretty much like another Anthem effect.
Choking Fumes seems antithetical to Cumber Stone and Reverence, since the later keep people from attacking, which neutralizes CF. Some more general removal might serve better. Not everything has to be relying on the Godhead. Indeed, it shouldn't, since you have no way to tutor it up, so there will frequently be games where it doesn't show up. And since it has a huge target on its head but no means to protect itself it will also likely not stay long. Some tutors and/or protective means for it are probaly a good idea. Or recursion, white has gotten some decent stuff in recent years for that.
Wow thanks for the suggestions, much to consider!
The "Anthem Godhead" idea seems nice for another deck concept since there aren't many flyers like Shinewend. You're right about Choking Fumes, think I'll take your advice and replace it with some token producers.
Counterspells were supposed to protect the Godhead in the first place. I wonder if it would be safe if I make the deck more counterspell-oriented, something like this:
There are actually quite a bunch of white, blue, and even colorless creatures with (conditional) flying that may fit your deck due to making themselves bigger in some way. Here are a few:
I wasn't entirely satisfied so I'm trying to pursue the original idea of splashing some black. Plus I've added Dovescape, it fits both the deck sub-themes and provides some other combos with the enchantments.
A problem I see with Dovescape is, that it keeps you from using all your other noncreature spells for anyting but making more tokens. So I would try to get those effects in creature form to dodge the scape if possible. Zealous Persecution could be substituted with Orzhov Pontiff, for example. Favorable Winds could become something like Angel of Jubilation. Boseiju, Who Shelters All can make your indstants and sorcery spells immune to the scape, getting you not only the spell's effects but also the tokens. But it only works for spells with generic mana in their cost, or some way to add a generic cost to that (additional costs like kicker, for example), since you can't pay colored costs with that mana.
Manlands like Celestial Colonnade are their usual size under a Godhead, since their animation effect and thus their ower/toughness setting effect has the later time stamp.
With black, you can add creature based removal, like Phyrexian Plaguelord, to use your creatures to ping off your opponent's.
Just throwing some ideas out, since adding a third color opens up a ot of options.
You're right (again) and your suggestions are fitting as always. Forgive me, I'm just fixated on the "tiny flyers" theme so I'd rather drop Dovescape and go for something more practical. Maybe Sudden Spoiling? (obv as an alternative to the Godhead when it's not on the battlefield)

4x Judge's Familiar
4x Pride of the Clouds
3x Ornithopter
2x Spiketail Hatchling
4x Godhead of Awe
2x Draining Whelk
2x Mana Tithe
3x Mana Leak
2x Spectral Procession
4x Midnight Haunting
3x Favorable Winds
2x Reverence
2x Cumber Stone
9x Island
10x Plains
2x Azorius Chancery
2x Nimbus Maze
Godhead of Awe combo: Reverence, Cumber Stone
1/1 flyers: Pride of the Clouds and the rest of the crew, Midnight Haunting, Spectral Procession, Favorable Winds
Counterspells: Judge's Familiar, Spiketail Hatchling, Draining Whelk, Mana Tithe, Mana Leak
EDIT, current deck idea:
4x Ornithopter
4x Judge's Familiar
2x Spiketail Hatchling
4x Pride of the Clouds
4x Godhead of Awe
2x Draining Whelk
3x Zealous Persecution
4x Soul Manipulation
3x Favorable Winds
2x Reverence
2x Curse of Death's Hold
2x Sudden Spoiling
8x Island
8x Plains
2x Nimbus Maze
2x Underground River
2x Arcane Sanctum
1x Forbidden Orchard
1x Vesuva
Godhead of Awe combo: Zealous Persecution, Reverence, Curse of Death's Hold (with Sudden Spoiling as an alternative to the Godhead);
1/1 flyers: Pride of the Clouds and the rest of the crew, Favorable Winds;
Counterspells: Judge's Familiar, Spiketail Hatchling, Draining Whelk, Soul Manipulation.
Not sure about a couple of things:
- Maybe I should drop Favorable Winds since the deck is not very creature-based, and add other 2 Spiketail Hatchling and 1 Zealous Persecution. Or some generic counterspells like Mana Leak;
- Siren Stormtamer fits both the deck sub-themes so I'm considering it to replace Ornithopter.
Thanks for your feedback!
-2 Slith Ascendant
-2 Countermand
+3 Mana Leak
+1 Favorable Winds
plus I'm considering Judge's Familiar or Spiketail Hatchling instead of the other 2 Sliths. I would replace Mindshrieker too, but then I think I'd need some other sort of mana sink. I came up with Sacred Mesa but I'm not sure. What do you think?
To increase the support for Pride of the Clouds you could use token producrs like Beck // Call, Eyes in the Skies, Lingering Souls, Midnight Haunting, Spectral Procession, Belfry Spirit, Spectral Reserves, Triplicate Spirits, etc. Beckon Apparition could serve as graveyard hate while also providing a flyer.

Counterspells: Judge's Familiar, Spiketail Hatchling, Draining Whelk, Mana Tithe, Mana Leak
Umara Raptor (a 2/2 for 3 mana, and still a 2/2 under a Godhead, more if you add other allies, though they can also trigger each other)
Arcbound Stinger
Arctic Aven (a 3/2 flyer for 3 mana, but can also gain you some life, and still a 2/2 under the Godhead)
Briarberry Cohort
Esper Stormblade (if you include enough multicolored stuff for it to be active)
Storm Fleet Aerialist (attacking shouldn't be a problem for your deck)
Stormbound Geist
Mausoleum Wanderer (is even better than Judge's Familiar, so either replace it or maybe run alongside it)
Drogskol Captain (doesn't do anything for himself under a Godhead, but protects it and pumps your other spirits, like the tokens you intend to make)
By the way, the Anthem Godhead also sparked some ideas for myself, so thank you, got my deckbuilding juices flowing.
