I'm going to add two copies of top. It goes with Pain Seer, allowing us to minimize the life lost to the trigger. It also goes with Disciple of Deceit allowing us to look at the top immediately after a reshuffle, which we could potentially do every turn. Also since we're mostly a combo deck anyway it helps us find the pieces we might be missing.
I'm going to vote against refocus. I don't really care for the single use nature of it, but also it has been pointed out that there is at least one strictly better version.
I'll add my vote to remove the 4 Refocus. the extra mana is hardly worth the cantrip. Only being able to untap a creature also limits the card's function (many other cards allow to choose to tap or untap).
I'll vote to keep the Opposition. I think 2 is a good number.
Why do you want to keep Skirsdag? We have a couple of automatically-win-the-game combos in the deck, he seems to be redundant to me
milling would take forever. beating them with a ass-ton of 5/5's won't.

yep, best way to do that is to quote that last post that has the deck build in it. then delete that persons comments and replace it with your own. Make sure you give a reason why you want to keep something. and then make sure to update the deck list with your vote information.
I like having a backup plan to the card lock down. so far we have good discard/mill, potentially at instant speed, and we have decent creature removal with macar that can create easily sacrificed tokens to enable the skirsdag backup plan. I'd still like to see some doom blades or go for the throat as a 2 cmc tutorable removal. and potentially something like crypsis or cerulean wisps or triton tactics as our purposeful surprise untap seems pretty limited right now.
I like the idea of Crypsis, it's functionally better than Refocus, and does more than Cerulean Wisps... We can still work in Triton Tactics... we could still use some draw to get Superman's Cape or AoD.
for now, adding two Crypsis, to give us enough room to work something else in if need be. we could still use more counter/discard control.
@Dope- when we run out of mana to fuel AoD, the demons would be entertaining.
I was thinking Shrieking Mogg would be fun to splash in. Tap everything, then with the intruder alarm, everything untaps!

I really think that since Disciple of Deceit might actually help us a bit in this deck, having more cards that can tutor for aura of dominion and others that untap our creatures that ghostly touch could help us especially if we have our opponent discard enough that they have no creatures to block with. We can untap our creature that attacked and still have it to block the next turn.
Adding 3 Muddle the Mixture. I think that keeping Disciple of Deceit is good because we do want to have some creature out to swing even if it's not for much. Since counter was suggested I think that this would be our best bet for now. There are plenty of cards to look for when transmuted.

I'm really worried that we have no actual defenses for when things get to hit the field and present a body threat. Because of that i'm going to add 4, yes 4 (tutorable with deceit) Go for the throat. it clears threats and enables morbid. I considered a 3 drop spell, like recoil or necrobite because they are tutorable as well, but I think hard removal is definitely needed here. (though necrobite does tap our creature on our opponent's turn if we block with it!)
i feel weird about counters usually. unless you've got a good amount of them, they aren't always super effective. you've got to have them in hand at the right time where removal can be retroactive. i'm going to pull a weird move in a blue deck and vote out remand and muddle the mixture in favor of more hard removal. also, our creatures aren't really good at blocking things since we really want to keep them around for their untaps.
Surgical extraction can do some serious work with discard and creature hate.
i'm also goign to vote down paradise mantle to 2 copies. it's effective but we've got a lot of cards that attach to creatures, and we've only got 18 creatures. i think i'd be more comfortable with 20 or 22 creatures. I might be wrong here, but it feels like we're at a disadvantage with the majority of our draws.
I know more creatures is a better answer since we have so many enchantments and the focus is on inspired. I'd like to add more disciple of deceit but we'd be over the 75 and then we'd move to the editing phase. So, for now I vote out the below:
- I would like to vote to remove both Sensei's Divining Top. I don't think that we need it here. The Disciple and muddle can search for things and the top is not the same converted cmc as either of them or other cards in the deck.
- I second the removal of all remand. We do not need that much counter in this deck.
I also like the idea of using Captain of the Mists. We have a human sub theme minus two creatures. He will also allow us to tap and untap permanents along with being another creature than I feel we desperately need.
Why not throw in a playset of Fog Bank for blocking? I know I know it can be easily removed but id rather them waste it on a bank than to kill off SoSS
we don't need blockers because we have opposition and other ways to tap their stuff down. on top of that, we want to tap our own creatures as much as possible in order to take advantage of their abilities. If we're tapped down, we don't want creatures to be on their field. so we get rid of them. removal of a creature ensures that we don't need to match their creature some how. trample still gets through fog bank. yes we can "bait" out removal of our fog bank BUT personally, i'd kill the thing with an ability and just overwhelm the fog bank later. I don't see blocking as an effective supportive strategy for a deck like this. plus removal triggers our infinite 5/5 flier combo
I'm really worried that we have no actual defenses for when things get to hit the field and present a body threat. Because of that i'm going to add 4, yes 4 (tutorable with deceit) Go for the throat.
The deck has a tutor option. Why 4 Go for the Throat when we can split between it and doom blade?
+2 Doom Blade
Voting for -2 Go For The Throat
Voting -3 remand. I like the card, but I'd rather have room for other stuff.
Voting -2 Paradise Mantle. I personally feel that springleaf drum is better in that slot. Paradise feels pretty bad when your creature gets killed and you lose access to 1 mana the following turn. Springleaf can't tap all of your creatures, but doesn't have issues with no being equipped.

Honestly, I think that we should have spring leaf drum opposed to paradise mantle. There will be times that we might want to leave one creature untapped because it is big enough to block something, but we might also need mana. If they have have paradise mantle equipped, they will be our only source for that extra mana. We could just tap another creature with the drum.
Also, there are so many enchantments that I feel we need like 2-4 more creatures. Maybe I am the only person who feels like this. Since we are working with many 2 cmc cards, I think that having more Disciple of Deceit would be beneficial. What do you all think?
Voting - 2 on go for the throat since it gives us variance and we do not need 6 kills IMO.
Adding 2 Bojuka Bog. We are already using black and since we are making our opponent discard/mill we might want some cards out of their graveyard. Especially if they end up playing anything that benefits from having a large graveyard.
71 is correct! as of your post.
i don't quite agree with removing 2 go for the throat. 8 removal package seems to be working in my version of the deck. issues i've found so far. creatures aren't really good at being creatures: aka, blocking feels bad with them, attacking is meh (except for fliers), they just don't provide any real threat and the tap abilities seem too slow to actually get rid of the hand. so you end up dealing with a lot of creatures that hit the field on your opponent's side

kumelker, i'm assuming you're new to the GMaD rules, or maybe you aren't. But now that we are over 75, we have to start cutting until 60. I believe the rule is that you can't add more than 75, so only 1 notion thief is actually in the deck and there is no more voting to increase any of these.
Since it doesn't seem like you're aware of the GMaD rules, could we get a Moderator in here to allow him to take his addition back if he wants to?
also. TheUnseen. yeah man. i know. i'm not sure either, but I wanted to see how everyone else felt about him. i figured a 1 of might be the only way to play him.
I'm going to vote against refocus. I don't really care for the single use nature of it, but also it has been pointed out that there is at least one strictly better version.
