I tried something like that once, but my main problem was, that dragons are pretty easy to handle. A bit of targeted removal, bounce, tapdown etc. and you´re screwed. Besides, Mana Flare is dangerously two-sided, so whether it will work for you probably depends a lot on your meta.
You can say the same for most creatures when it comes to tap, bounce, removal. You're right about Flare being double sided. That's why I've got Bonfire. Overextend and they get BTFO by a Flare'd up Bonfire. Now, there is an artifact called Extraplanar Lens that is a more focused Mana Flare. Perhaps I should use that one instead?
Hmm maybe just doing it the "old-fashioned way" and just splashing green for mana ramp spells?
If you would prefer to go mono-color, artifact acceleration is definitely the way to go. Aside from Extraplanar Lens, here are some other artifacts I can suggest:
You can also maybe utilize spells like Seething Song to bring out dragons earlier?
Also, I think there's some room in your deck for the following dragons: Hunted Dragon - Very cheap to cast and since you have sweepers, the Knights would not matter much Thundermaw Hellkite - Really just a beating Bogardan Hellkite - A little expensive to cast but is pretty efficient for what he does.
If you're planning to utilize Artifacts, Covetous Dragon is another good candidate
Thank you, Todd. I don't want to eviscerate my tournament decks for Thundermaw or Stormbreath, though. I might switch out Dragon Tyrant for Hellkite. I was also thinking of dropping Two-Headed for Ryuusei, the Falling Star.
There is a Dragon Primer that might help you: Click Here
One of the best ramp artifact is Everflowing Chalice.
But Extraplanar Lens are really nice too, i just don't like it because it prevents me from using Blood Moon to shutdown my opponents, but in most Casual meta Lens would be great.

"Now i lay you, down to rest, you'll never be more than second best" (Megadeth)
You may need a set of Seething Song to make this really quickly. In a single turn, you may be able to cast multiple copies of Mana Flare and so, be able to play your bulky creatures quickly. Also there is needed a way to win asap so, try to use the best dragons for this purpouse. I placed Banefire because it can be a perfect wincon, the opponent cannot counter it or prevent the damage, is perfect for the deck. And a copy of Dragonstorm is pretty cool too. You may place 2 or 4 dragons on a single turn.
Tarox Bladewing can be an awesome win condition. Hunted Dragon is also awesome, cheap and powerful. It is no problem if you're giving for free three tokens, since you're going to strike faster.
Also, Scourge of Valkas really hurts when you're playing multiple dragons, it is really awesome.
I like that build, Aoi. My only tweak is I would SB Tarox for Flameblast, since it can work as a mana sink if I need it. Maybe drop Dragon Tyrant for Kilnmouth Dragon so that I can play around with two tribal "lords": Scourge of Valkas and Kilnmouth Dragon.
I'm actually tooling around with Zirilan in my legacy format Dragon Stompy. Dumping a Nicol Bolas and blowing their hand is always dandy, as is pitching Dragon Tyrant to a Blazing Shoal that targets Hound of Griselbrand.

Toying around with the idea of using Mana Flare to speed out a dragon, or make a big bonfire/earthquake to keep the board favorable.
EDIT: Balefire Dragon could be a pretty cool inclusion.

For Red Sources:
Fire Diamond
Heart of Ramos
Darksteel Ingot
Coalition Relic - This speeds you up even faster as it's capable of giving you 2 mana per turn.
