Mmm, this one would do a fine job helping you find your basic lands to assemble your 5-color Domain, a deck that after having the five basic land types in play could have stuff like 5 damage for 1R (Tribal Flames), creature growth at +5/+5 for G (Gaea's Might and Alara's Might), draw 5 for 4U (Allied Strategies) and lots of fun, powerful finishers to choose from. Damn, I loved my Invasion Domain deck, it was one of the most fun decks I played.
There are some weird enchantments that launch you straight to full Domain that came out on more recent sets, such as Prismatic Omen (This one specifically could be used along Alara's Domain cards)
Lay of The Land helps you tutor the lands you need to complete your "Domain-Tron", as long as you have G on the borad, it's almost a land drop.
The 3/24/16 random card of the day is Ninja of the Deep Hours. If you have any comments, combos or a decklist involving this card, feel free to share it.
For a common, it has been the tying theme of many decks, not just for ninja decks. Getting in unblocked, drawing a card, getting a discount and being uncounterable gives this ninja the edge over many other card draw engines. Not to mention it can return creatures with good ETB effects (notably Spellstutter Sprite in Pauper). Love it!
Yes, Xyx, but black creatures usually were the worst to "compensate" for being untouchable to a huge amount of removal, Black Knight was a bit stronger than White Knight because it could dodge BOTH Swords to Plowshares and the current "Terror" iteration running around.
As the removal eventually got universal and unconditional, the creatures had to be improved to avoid them becoming useless, because almost no creature was considered an investment unless it either costed one mana or was protected from StP.
I guess the flavor from Dark Banishing comes from the fact that you were "using evil energies" to destroy the creature, energies that were useless against ebul critters such as zombies and those.
Memnarch is one of those cards that looks absurd on paper, yet I've never actually seen anyone win a game with it. I guess a 14-mana Control Magic is just too clunky.
I have won games with Memnarch. He's a bit over the top in mana requirements, but amazingly satisfying when it works out. I run him as a general and he draws a lot of hate, but recently I've been working on a 60 card deck too. As with most things in magic he pairs well with infinite mana. Particularly if you can make blue. I tend to keep him to theme when I can, running him in decks with tons of myr and use big board wipes/mass bounce to delay until I can set him up. You can run him either as a wombo combo guy or a control deck. Basically if you general is your mana sink, you just need to focus on a way generate a ton of mana.
Witness the end looks like a lame version of Blightning.
Oh yeah, she was holding a knife. I mean, um, of course she was holding a knife.
The 4/07/16 random card of the day is Hull Breach. If you have any comments, combos or a decklist involving this card, feel free to share.
I have a feeling this card works better against competitive decks than casual decks. When I would draw this card at our kitchen table, it would be pretty rare that I would have 2 valid targets for it.

Maybe Training Grounds?
