While this card costs 1 more mana than Claustrophobia, the flash is totally worth that extra mana. You can neutralize a freshly equipped or otherwise in precombat buffed creature during the beginning of combat and render all those buffs useless. It's certainly not tournament worthy, but a very solid and budget friendly removal option in Casual blue.
I use Mystic Restraints in a monoblue Puca's Mischief deck as a removal that I can give away to grab something else. It works very well in that deck.
I'm honestly surprised this card hasn't been reprinted at least once in a legal set. Though, with numerous ways to generate near infinite tokens, i can understand why. Tempest was a set that had some of the most iconic cards, and Goblin Bombardment is one of them.

This was alot better when hymn to tourach was in the same format. if only it didn't require your opponent to make you discard it, it would be amazing in a discard deck.
This was also about 2 years before shock was originally printed.

I have played this in a deck with Scandalmonger and Chain of Smog and other cards that punish discards. Good times.
But this isn't something you can pull off more than once against the same opponent.

These are the decks that I have constructed, and are ready to play:
01. Ankh Sligh to be exact.
This guy also reminds me a little of Working Stiff and Goblin Mime from Unhinged, because I was looking through my Un-cards the other day now that the third Un-set has officially been announced. It's funny that we have actual Grizzly Bears in red and black now. (Frazzled Editor is still like the best Grizzly Bears ever, though!)

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not watching.
Wow this card is terrible...Odyssey was one of my favorite blocks but there are a ton of bad cards from it. I can't imagine a deck ever wanting to play this card for any reason.

Mentor of the Meek gets pretty crazy with Elspeth Tirel. It sounds like a good way to make yourself public enemy number one in multiplayer.

I have this in my casual Goblin deck. It can help to finish off my opponent and my Goblin Bombardment + Gravepurge + Goblin Ringleader synergy is fun too.

There's a lightly played Alpha version on sale for $15k.
