It's kind of blunt to its own use, "This card is going to be good if you're investigating a lot." Might be neat to crossbreed a clue deck with a spirit tribal deck just because of the efficient body on this thing, but it's not interesting in any other kind of deck.
I mean walls have a flavor problem in Magic anyway in that they are inanimate but this is the one with the artwork where you can clearly see that the creature could just walk around it.

I think this is one of the most poorly designed cards ever printed. a 5cc 1/2 flier that gives a benefit to your opponent when it's killed... yah, no one EVER played this guy.

Are you sure, you are reading the card correctly? Far as I know, losing a card in hand to draw again (thus going one card down in card advantage) is not a benefit in most games.
true, but when it's not a discard or exile and you're not chosing, it's not a detrimental negative. maybe they wanted to dredge something that's been in their hand, maybe you're playing me and i have Infernal Genesis out.

But it is a detrimental negative! They lose a card for that game by delaying their draws. Chittering Rats is such an annoying card for that reason (and way better than the Imp, because cheaper and more power, and it's an ETB trigger). The ability's effect itself is good, just the whole package of the Imp is bad (too expensive, too weak a creature, "dies" trigger).
