How is Strive different than Replicate? Or did WotC forget about that ability?
Replicate creates copies of the spell via a triggered ability, which can also be responded to before the caster gets any copies. The copies aren't cast, so they cannot trigger heroic abilities. They also resolve independently with players getting the chance to respond in between whereas with strive you are dealing with a single spell and all its targets are affected when that single spell resolves. And of course, a single counterspell can stop the entire strive, with replicate you need one counterspell for each copy and the original (usually).

So yeah, replictae and strive are worlds apart.
And of course if you copy a spell with strive with Fork effects, you get to choose as many new targets as the original spell targeted, whereas if you did that to a spell with replicate you would not then get to also copy all the replicate copies.

is "Cannot Block" supposed to be a good ability or bad ability? sure, you could load him up with buffs and your opponent can't force it to block something with Deathtouch...

I keep waiting for these to be made common in a commander set so pauper has access to tri-lands. That would make pauper's colors more consistent and open up a lot of possibilities.
I honestly don't like how these Clan/Wedge-lands have no draw back. Even the guild/wedge lands or the Lairs are allied...
but that's the aspect of power creep in the game.

I think he was referring to the fact that allied colors are usually rewarded with better fixing than enemy, where as these would be identical.
Aye, this. looking through this history of lands- ignoring the OP/OG Duals- Ice Age released allied colored painlands (and Depletion lands), Mirage came out with allied-fetchlands, Tempest came out with allied stall-lands and EBT enemy painlands; allied painlands were reprinted until Invasion came out with etb allied duals, Planeshift with the allied-wedge Lairs, and Apocalyse came out with "better" enemy Painlands, and Odyssey came out with allied-Filter lands.
The allied Guild/wedge lands were an "improvement" over the Lairs, but the Lairs can be used to your advantage (Llanowar Reborn? Bounce Terremorphic Expanse when you know your library is tapped out, to use as discard fodder? Trade Routes/Landfall triggers? et al).
Dual-Filter lands, Guild-gate lands, guild-bounce lands were all fine... i find recourse with the recent enemy-duals and the clan/wedge lands... the game had a better ratio of allied color fixing than enemy color fixing, these lands skew that ratio but that's just my grumbling as a geezer from the old days.
