Hello everyone, I was looking for some help with my mono black deck I have writen on this website before and it has helped alot, but anyways I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on smaller but useful creatures for a mono black deck I have a playset of Thrill-Kill Assassin and a few sliverheads, is there anything else that would be useful for this deck? Oh yeah, and the rest of my creatures are pretty strong stuff like Desecration Demon and Bloodgift Demon
Also do you know any good artifacts or enchantments for mono black?
It depends on the deck. Phyrexian Arena is a strong card if you need some permanent form of card advantage(obviously not as strong as Necropotence, but 'potence is banned/restricted). Grave Pact can be good, too, if you're running a deck that runs a bunch of sacrifice effects like Innocent Blood or Fleshbag Marauder. Phyrexian Reclamation is strong if you need some way to recur stuff from the graveyard. The deck you're describing doesn't really sound like it needs a lot of artifact/enchantment backup, unless you want to throw in a singleton Grave Betrayal, or something.
I love how people always just throw around $30-50+ card suggestions around, lol.
Stop being dense.
If you look around various threads in casual, a huge chunk play online/MWS/cockatrice, and nobody in the forums has ESP and can tell what your budget is. Unless someone specifies a budget, I will assume anything outside the P9 as being fair game as a suggestion.

Depends on the deck. necropotence is likely the best black enchantment in the game, but not necessary (or legal) all of the time, while cards like skullclamp are nuts for an aggro deck. Null rod is fairly popular if you're playing against people with moxen.

I'm a huge fan of Royal Assassin - he's oldschool and one of the first creatures I ever went out of my way to obtain. Pretty decent in a Necropotence deck - deters your opponent from attacking while you gather your Drain Lifes and Corrupts for the kill.
I have most if the cards you guys listed but my friend told me they were not good for this deck, for more explanation I meant creatures that could hold off while I wait to put my demon of deaths gate or sheoldred or stuff along those lines.

If you want to play Demon of Death's Gate, you should look at this deck.
the deck costs $25 with lands, but you already have a lot of the cards im sure, so it would be very cheap for you to build. You can get Demon out as fast as turn 2, with turn 3-4 being the most common. That way you don't even need to sit and wait.

I don't believe I'm being dense but you're allowed your opinion. It's just different from mine.
If someone posts for deck/card ideas in the Casual forum, I assume they play casually. That is, don't want to run a $300-$500 deck. I would assume most people (based on my experiences with people I know and other forum members) don't want to spend $200 on a single playset for a casual deck. If they say budget is no issue, or that they want it to be Legacy competative, then sure; go go Dark Confidant, Cashseize, Jace, the Wallet Breaker etc.
I just think that if you're listing a card like that off hand (especially to a new player) you should be decent enough to mention right off the bat that yes, it's a great card and can win you games but they run about $XX each. Most people who run/know these cards have a pretty good idea what they go for off hand. At least you avoid the secondary post; "Yeah that card is great...but **** that!". Just my 2 cents.
@-spooky-: I like that deck idea. Might be something fun to put together at some point. I've wanted a deck to run some DoDG for awhile now.
@DeathBringer01: Another creature you could look at is Wall of Souls; it's holds off decently powered creatures and well as being a deterrent. If they do attack the damage they take from it will help balance the life loss caused by Demon of Death's Gate's alternate casting cost.
Edit: If you run the Wall then Skullclamp will pair nice for when you sac it. Then again Slullclamp pairs nice with any creature that you know...costs mana and dies! lol.
If you're buying time to hard cast Demon of Death's Gate I don't think you quite understand why he's powerful. Run a deck like what spooky suggested (i have one that runs reassembling skeletons, nether traitor and nether shadow cards that just won't go away and can be sac'd over and over for Death's Gate and Delriach. I've had the Demon out on turn 1 with 3 one drop critters and a dark rit. few decks can deal with that.
Likewise, if you're trying to build a deck specifically around certain demons, cards like Dark Ritual can be nice to power them out earlier, or creatures like Abyssal Gatekeeper, who both discourage opponents from attacking you, and are great to sacrifice to your demons if needed.
It's hard to know exactly what your aiming for without seeing the deck as it stands right now. Could you post your current decklist? It would help get our suggestions a little more on target.
Death Pact- card advantage and board control, works best with sac outlets or Innocent Blood/Barter in Blood/Diabolic Intent. Oni Possession becomes a monstrous threat with Death Pact, making any of your creatures big and giving them trample while killing one of their creatures every turn.
Black Knight/Knight of Infamy/Order of the Ebon Hand etc.
Hypnotic Specter
Gatekeeper of Malakir
Phyrexian Obliterator
Nantuko Shade
I've seen the following in nasty Shirei combos:
Bile Urchin
Viscra Seer
Plagued Rusalka
to name a few
Sasky for the Sig.
I am in your [PACK]. Watching you... do... something.

For the other Demon's Reaper from the Abyss Xathrid Demon and the like you really need like Cabal Coffers, Culling the Weak, Deathrender otherwise your deck will be slow as hell (i've tried haha)
Cheap creature wise, Skirsdag High Priest and basically the others I mentioned above that keep coming back make great chump blockers. Then once u get a little mana Soot Imp, Desecration Demon and Blood Speaker are wonderful.
and don't forget you black control Grave Pact, Bone splinters, Killing Wave
Thanks to GR @ Yavin IV Studios for the signature!
If your deck is more mid-range, with lots of disruption like Duress and Go for the Throat, then adding in a few cards like Gatekeeper of Malakir, and Phyrexian Obliterator would work great.
Likewise, if you're trying to build a deck specifically around certain demons, cards like Dark Ritual can be nice to power them out earlier, or creatures like Abyssal Gatekeeper, who both discourage opponents from attacking you, and are great to sacrifice to your demons if needed.

Nightmare Lash and Lashwrithe are pretty solid.
Hand of Cruelty, Black Knight, Diregraf Ghoul, Knight of Infamy, Gravecrawler, Geralf's Messenger, Sengir Autocrat, Duty-Bound Dead, Reassembling Skeleton... The list goes on. Obviously some cards are better in certain decks, but since I don't have a deck list to go off of, these are some general suggestions.
