voted out the foresian totem because it doesn't help with our mana and it doesn't fit into our charge counter theme
voting out mana leak because we don't seem to be playing blue
adding everflowing chalice, I konw it pushes our budget but it is a great card in combination with coretapper, voltaic key, energy chamber, and unwinding clock, it also helps if we plan to activate the forge multiple times

My second vote to remove Cultivate wasn't tallied.
also, voting out 2 Everflowing Chalice- what are the odds we'll need two, or even need all the mana that four of them combined could provide? none. two aught to provide enough mana- and enough fodder for counters- to repeatedly activate the Titan Forge. also to open up a few more dollars in our skimp budget.

red is already in the mix with volt charge, so the totem isn't totally out of color. also just because of the timing thing doesn't mean that it wouldn't be a good card for this deck. a 4/4 with trample that can block 2 creatures, and a mana rock, and an artifact for golem foundry. i understand why it's being removed. just saying.
Edit: didnt see redwoods post. Disregard this post unless it turns out to be invalid.
- Voting out the 4 cultivate, the mana acceleration/fixing isn't really needed or appropriate in this deck. That's 3 votes so they're out.
- Voting out 2 everflowing chalice for reasons said above. This deck doesns't look like it is too mana heavy, abusing the counters is a nice idea and mana accel is always nice, but I don't really see this deck wanting to focus all of its
time and effort on building up this card. At best it will probably have a few charge counters on it. One thing's for certain however, this deck doesns't need 4 of them.
- Adding 1 Lux Cannon. It's cheap, it can charge itself and is abusable with pretty much everything here. A good deck should always have an answer to problem permanents. We can probably bump this up to 2 or 3 when we figure out the budget.
With Redwood's post we reched the cutting phase. So Cannon can't be added. The votes however stand.
Vote to cut: - Clock of Omnes. There's only so much stuff that makes sense to untap, and with Key & the other Clock I think we have enough untapping effects.
- Wall of Junk. Nomen est omen. The card has little synergy with the deck.
- Tangle Golem. Same here. Tho an unconditional relatv cheap fat body that has synergy with the Splicer is nice, he's not that synergistic with the deck.
- 1 Volt Charge. I think three are enough, given a triplet of Blasts.
- 2 Lands. I usually don't vote to cut lands, but this deck's curve basically ends at 4cmc (even if kept, the 7cmc spell has affinity for ~ half our basics), while there are Chalices to charge up. I think they're useful to get four mana on t3 and to hold our lands' mana up for instants and abilities. Tho I wouldn't totally object to cut them, so I won't vote to keep them.
Voting out/down
-unwinding clock, clock of omens, and voltaic key because all the untapping is really unnecessary.
-Golem Foundry as we'd have to commit too many slots to it in order for it to matter.
If we can add lands, I'll add skarrg, the rage pits so we don't get chumped when we finally do cast our 9/9.
Sadness, just managed to pull myself away from my current working project on the forums to find this one already closed. I think this deck could have used either Sands of Time or Storage Matrix as stall options against our opponents.

-Golem Foundry as we'd have to commit too many slots to it in order for it to matter.
b-but... I like the untappy!
I'll not vote to have it back in (yet), but untapping gives equal benefit in counters as any proliferation, as well as allows multiple activations for creatures if we have proliferated enough counters onto it. Clock of Omens also is insane potential in almost any artifact deck.
If we can add lands, I'll add skarrg, the rage pits so we don't get chumped when we finally do cast our 9/9.
How Many? Lands are placeholdered in, so you're not 'adding' any cards past the 75. Just defining what's not yet claimed.
For the record, Tree of Tales is .77, and Great Furnace is $1.16.
I'd like to add some in, but without knowing how the deck will shape up, I think it would be best to hold these off until we hit 60, and fill up the rest of the available budget with them if it is advantageous to do so (eg. Clock of Omens).
VOTE TO CUT
- I'll second Blut's post and add a vote against 2 lands. A 4-cmc top end artifact deck can squeak by on 22.
- Likewise, 2 Chalices. Without a pressing need for massive amounts of mana, we don't really need 4, although I do enjoy a good proliferate/clock of omens shenaniganry. Cut, $2.32 freed.
- Also going against Wall of Junk. It's not going to be that great of a blocker, especially if we're going to lower our mana.
Voting back in all the UNTAPPY things because they are exactly what we need in a deck like this. also voting back in the golem foundry because we are already dedicating a lot of slots to making them work.
Clock of Omens. 1 @ -2 and 1 @ -all... when there are only 2... = 2 @ -2. and i'm voting it out. so its gone. we have enough other ways to untap and we dont have an engine for infin tap/untap going so its not that useful for it's cost.
voting down the lands because we have a low cmc curve
Voting out Wall of Junk. To much issues having to recast everytime we want to block.
Voting down the Volt Charge by 1. Good card for the deck, but we have the Galvanic Blast. At this point looks like shaving is gonna be best.
Voting to shave 1 off of Voltaic Key. Just trying to trim down to 60.
in the defense of Wall of Junk: we have no early defense... we'll get punched in the face constantly until we can start spitting out Golem tokens all the Forge and Foundry... speaking of the Golem Foundry, the Wall has a nifty synergy with the it: it blocks, it bounces, we replay it, the Foundry gets a counter. repeat until the Wall blocks something that can crush it... hopefully by that time, we can use a 9/9 Golem to beat that's threats face in.
and in a game where we have trouble recasting a Wall, is a game we've already lost.
voting out Tangle Golem... i doubt we'll be playing heavy green enough to warrant his Affinity ability. I'd rather run Frogmite or Myr Enforcer because with the abundance of artifacts- we could have used that early defense...
Voting out the fourth Volt charge... buh-bye., making room and making the deck less color dependant.
adding 2 Mogg Hollows- i'd rather tap out when i want to cast a Volt charge or wait to populate with a Deliverance, than take one with Karplusan Forest [$0.20 with the Hollows, vs a $1.60 average with the Forest], or overtax our budget with a couple of Fire-Lit Thicket... if anyone has a better suggestion...
SELVAXRI! King of Misfortune & Master of Rocket Launchers "Do ya feel lucky? Because you'd better start runnin' while you still can." 375 Misfortune {+3 signed AP's} & 104 Rocket Launcher (41 AQ/ 63 Rev) Edgar Rice Burroughs, forgotten legend of the word.
On the land base: I think we'll need more red than green, since we lost our walls, that early burn needs to happen. But we've still got room for some colorless tricks.
I liked the idea of Skarrg, the Rage Pits. Only 0.23 and makes Titans far scarier. How about 2 for now?
Well, with the clock of omens gone, we don't need the artifact lands.
I don't see colors being too much of an issue in a 2 color deck, especially since all the colored cards are single color. We can probably split it 50/50 in basics and be fine, so that leaves the question of utility lands.
Dread Statuary (.19) can become a golem. Gruul Turf (.27) gets around bonus land issues, giving artificial card advantage/land count.
I'll add in 2 Gruul turf to inflate the mana amount in the deck.
I was thinking maybe 60/40, favoring red. You're right it won't matter much with how little color we have, but we want that burn/proliferate early and the fog/populate in the mid.
Shoot, it might not even be worth running cheap duals with drawbacks at all. 'Cept turf perhaps, since it has a mana/card ratio to give us a upside we might utilize.
A couple artifact lands to ensure the Blasts hit for 4 early could be good.
Voting out Tangle Golem - Other than being an artifact I don't see what sinergy it has with the rest of the deck. Which is a shame, because it's actually a card I quite like!
The idea is that it is a Golem which Vital Splicer can regenerate.

We also still have Unwinding Clock in the deck - if we can ever manage to have that and 3 artifact lands then the Titan Forge charge counter activation effectively becomes free.
We also still have Unwinding Clock in the deck - if we can ever manage to have that and 3 artifact lands then the Titan Forge charge counter activation effectively becomes free.
Good point.
Tree of Tales clocks in at 0.44
Great Furnace at 0.85
I was so focused on Clock of Omens I forgot about unwinding clock. Darn. The Artifact lands are by far the better choice. Someone start squeezing them in, and I'll vote out extra redundant lands to make budget space for them if necessary.
Edit:
Revising prices because there are a few cards with cheaper editions.
Worldwake Everflowing Chalice is $1.02 (the above post was using the Duel Decks price.)
Mirrodin Tree of Tales is $0.46 (cheaper than Planechase) and Mirrodin Great Furnace is $0.85.
Factoring all of those in and adjusting for a few cards that went up or down by a hair in the meantime, that puts the deck as shown above at $24.00 even. That lets us go to the full playset of our cheaper artifact land and still be in budget.

I'd say we can go over $25 during the building, so long as it gets cut down to that limit for the 60 card deck. Just keep it reasonable.
That's the first card I thought of when I saw this. =)

Shoot, it might not even be worth running cheap duals with drawbacks at all. 'Cept turf perhaps, since it has a mana/card ratio to give us a upside we might utilize.
A couple artifact lands to ensure the Blasts hit for 4 early could be good.

The idea is that it is a Golem which Vital Splicer can regenerate.

I think we are using midrange prices so that would put them at:
Tree of Tales at 0.77
Great Furnace at 1.16
Can still squeeze a couple in.
EDIT:
That would put us at
4 Vital Splicer ($0.17 ea)
4 Coretapper ($0.93 ea)
Artifacts: 20
4 Titan Forge ($0.38 ea)
4 Energy Chamber ($1.42 ea)
4 Voltaic Key ($0.52 ea) (1 @ -1)
2 Unwinding Clock ($0.84 ea)
4 Golem Foundry ($0.10 ea) (1 @ -all)
2 Everflowing Chalice ($1.16 ea)
3 Galvanic Blast ($0.36 ea)
3 Volt Charge ($0.21 ea)
4 Druid's Deliverance ($0.12 ea)
Lands: 22
12 Tolarian Academy (Priceless)
2 Gruul Turf (.27 ea)
2 Mogg Hollows ($0.20 ea)
2 Skarrg, the Rage Pits ($0.23 ea)
2 Tree of Tales ($0.77 ea)
2 Great Furnace ($1.16 ea)
Ok, another edit. Went ahead and verified the total for the prices listed and it puts us at 25.53. Not sure exactly where to go from here.
