I got the Izzet deck and my friend got the Golgari deck from the duel decks.
I took out what I thought were bad cards and added some of my own. Here's what it came to. I have some other good cards like Charmbreaker Devils and Galvanoth but I wasn't sure if I wanted to add it.
Well I thought Izzet was the perfect combination of both aggro and control.
I would prefer aggro though.
I like the Unsummon and Kiln Fiend combo so I took out Wee Dragonauts
Thundermaw Hellkite isn't that useful for the deck, but I just shamefully put it there because it was a Mythic Rare

Actually both fiend and Dragonauts work so you could keep both for the luls.
Ramp up Delvers to 4 a piece too.
Well, Vapor Snag is better than unsummon since it also pushes for damage and that there are a lot more instants and sorceries to abuse Scepter with too (Counterspell etc.).
I wouldn't unless you're packing talrand, wee dragonauts, or kiln fiends.
Electrickery is a cheap weenie wipe, it's very useful when you need it (obviously), I'd say it's worth a slot or two. It ****s all over most tribal decks such as elves, goblins, and tokens (if timed properly). It's more like a mini Mizzium Mortars to me
drop Force Spike, it's too unreliable. At least go with Mana Leak if that's your intention. I'd also drop the auger and kraken hatchlings for the aforementioned creatures.
If you want defense, drop the krakens for Fog Bank.
You could do better for the mana cost of the devils, i'd throw in one Galvanoth. I prefer my Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius but honestly you shouldn't need meaty creatures that cost a lot if you're running the right instants/sorceries. I ran into that problem and decided to go the route of creatures that benefit from me casting instants/sorceries rather than have my creatures over here and my spells over there. With a deck running this sort of theme, the real kicker comes from the non-creature spells, so focus more on instant/sorcery choice THEN creatures.
Have you considered Epic Experiment? I have yet to put my playset to use x.x
never underestimate a gelectrode with a curiosity on it... such a deadly combo with preordain in terms of tempo and knowing what you're going to draw then drawing it at will
If you decide on running more than 2 delvers and brainstorm/opt/ponder, you can increase your miracle count (because you can control it a bit better). Who doesn't like controlling when they Thunderous Wrath and Temporal Mastery?
Also, a constant game-changer is my use of Spelltwine with the creatures I run, you may want to consider it for your deck (3 (2 freeeeee) casts for the hefty price of one). Note: you can cast for overload with Spelltwine, not to mention those fancy miracles too. I wouldn't suggest using it with x cost spells though.

The difference between Pokemon and Magic!
Plus, do you want to go more control or more aggro-ish here?

Hi, this is my izzet deck, it works pretty damn well and I can't seem to stop ranting and raving about it. Take a gander.
I'm still undecided about my Wee Dragonauts.
I'm not too sure about adding Electrickery and Talran's Invocation though.
