I used Beleren to take advantage of the possibility of 20 extra turns(Though, that will never happen, mind you. Your opponent would have to be either REALLY dumb, or Jon Finkel)
I was thinking more along the lines of how to take advantage of the extra turns when I threw in Jace/Assembly. Also, isn't Concentrate a strictly better version of Jace's Ingenuity?

Bbearz: Concentrate is a sorcery and thus has to be played during your own turn so you can't keep your mana open for counterspells or spot removal, with Jace's Ingenuity you can keep all your mana open to react to whatever your opponent does during his / her turn than play Jace's Ingenuity at the end of your opponent's turn.

Rchrhds is right about Mana Leak being superior to Cancel. Cancel costs 3, Mana Leak costs 2, and if you don't really care about countering anything until later, can at least be used to eat up their mana~

Hey everyone. I've been extremely busy this week brewing for Modern (as the Pro Tour was this weekend) and doing a great deal of trading at events (didn't have time to play in any this time around). However, I didn't want the time to go completely to waste for all you fans of the thread. So, I present a different kind of deck help - not what cards to put in your deck but rather how to get the cards you want in your deck. You can buy them of course, but trading is often much easier. And, right now, there's some great opportunity to get some high value trade cards for very little.
So, here are Stairc's Cards to Watch For! The following cards are both worth money and currently incredibly undervalued. Keep an eye out during trades. You may even have some of these cards in your collections already!
Note: All prices use Channelfireball.com, as of September 3rd.
Disrupting Shoal (Most People and even Stores think it's a bulk rare, but it's jumped to being an $8 card today due to Modern showings. It's in a whole lot of decks.)
Amulet of Vigor (Most People and even Stores think it's a bulk rare, but it's jumped to being a $4 card today due to Modern showings. It's tech in Cloudpost to make their lands come into play untapped, thus speeding them a turn. Multiple triggers stack too, which can seriously ramp your mana on lands that enter tapped.)
Bribery (Once a casual card only, it now books $25 as sideboard tech against any deck in Modern running the evilest of all Eldrazi.)
Birthing Pod (A $4 card very recently, the pod just jumped to $10 and will likely see even more during Innistrad due to the Morbid mechanic. Trade for these all day, they're easy to move. I bought one from my store at $3.50 today and flipped it in a trade for $10 in value just a half hour later.)
Green Sun's Zenith (Formerly a $5 card, now up to $10 with Modern and just one cool card all around)
Goryo's Vengeance, Plunge Into Darkness, Spoils of the Vault (all former bulk that are now awesome in combos due to modern - only worth $2-$3 each right now but you should be able to get them as throw-ins all day. The Vengeance is the cheapest way in Modern to put an Emrakul into play, while the other two black cards are incredible at setting up an Infect/Blazing Shoal kill.).
Foil Ponder, Foil Preordain, Foil Manamorphose, Foil Gitaxian Probe (Any common card that's played in multiple older formats where decks are full of money cards fetches a great value with its foil - as people take pride in assembling the coolest deck possible. The same logic that has people shell out $5 for an unhinged island has them shell out $12 for a Foil Preordain. All these cards are about worthless in their non-shiny versions, but their foil ones fetch a surprising sum)
Akroma's Memorial (Many people think it's worth something, but not more than $7-$12. This card has enormous casual appeal and actually books $20)
And that's all for Stairc's Cards to Watch For! Certainly, there are far more undervalued cards out there, but these are a good start. If you find them while trading (in the next few days particularly), you stand a good shot of gaining a ton of value at a huge discount, which you can then flip to other traders for all those cool cards you want for your own decks.

first of all: great thread, even though I only just found it!
While i was reading about the decks you made in here, I thought you might be the right guy for me.
I have like one deck-idea a week, but I rarely get to finish one, so I hope that with my crazy ideas and strategies, and your deck-building-skills, we could create some nice decks?
Now, not to lose any time, here's a selection of the decks I have in mind:
I even made a thread about this one, but it got merged into the goblin primer, meh.
This idea came to my mind when playing my Goblin deck, which happens to include Goblin Grenades, as well as when I first saw Tar pitcher and Mudbutton Torchrunner^^. I've always liked the grenade, and giving it its own deck just seemed right. matron is there to tutor for the fodder launch. There are more finishers than the one i posted there, but those are probably the most effective ones.
Simple strategy: Get out cheap goblins, and sac them for tons of damage.
Maybe add some black recursion, like Wort, Boggart Auntie.
This is one of my favourites. I got this idea a long while ago when reading an Orcish Lumberjack...all i could think of was what i could do with 5 mana on turn two, while also getting that sacrificed forest back. Things went pretty nuts when I thought about a Devastating Summons sac'ing 4 lands on turn 2, netting me 2 4/4 elementals to beat with.
Later on, the Keldon Firebombers, Tremble, Akki Blizzard-Herder and Natural Balance made me think about a multiplayer land-destruction deck, which is especially exciting, due to the common known "Don't play land destruction in multi-player" - well this deck could probably do it, as 2-3 lands are far enough to play with. Also the opponents probably don't have enough land-recursion to get out many lands later.
Mill is a pretty standard deck, I know - but mine needs a complete re-work. My new starting point was the idea of milling at any cost (Mesmeric Orb) while possibly getting some defense or even threats from my opponent's graveyard with beacon of unrest/Liliana Vess. Some cards with Flashback and similar recursion are nice as well, cause I want the milling to hit my opponent harder than me, ofc^^
Here the thing I'm unsure with is the balance between Mill - Counters - Spot Removal - Mass Removal.
This one is actually from an article on wizards.com
The idea for this one was to mill mostly with the Hedron Crab, and alot of landfall triggers. Terramorphic Expanse and Evolving Wilds are quite nice in triggering the Crab twice form a single land-drop, and veteran explorer and new frontiers may set up archive trap. scapeshift is a big finisher, e.g. sacrificing 5 lands to mill 15, get 5 evolving wilds/terramorphic expanse, and mill another 15 next turn. Pretty self-explanatory, but I'm unsure about the defense.
For all of the above, and any more that i post, feel free to make any additions, cuts, whatever you think would make the deck playable.
I prefer a casual-style, and I belive I'm pretty much Jhonny - thinking about card-interactions is what I like the most^^
My budget is rather limited, but feel free to mention any cards that would make the deck alot better. Singleton Planeswalkers are okay, playsets rather not. If you like my ideas, feel free to pm me, I got hell of a lot more things I'd like to see in a deck.

In the mean time, I've also been working on planning the article series you all requested, which has taken up extra time. The first article is in the cue already and I'm working on numbers 2 and beyond. Now I have to, thanks to this awesome banner by Heroes of the Plane.
One thing it has that most mill decks don't featuer is Duress. I would say this is a must for any deck that contains black if there is any combo in your meta as you just don't want combo running over you. The deck carries eight walls so it is able to hold back aggro decks and tribal decks so you can live long enough to mill them. Than the deck has more than enough mill to let you mill your opponent fast with the 4x Mind Funeral (probably the best mill card ever printed), 4x Glimpse the Unthinkable, 2x Jace Beleren, and 4x Mesmeric Orb. Also, the deck has six fetch lands to maximize on Hedron Crab for even more mill.

Whenever a bear comes into play, it will deal damage from the surge, then draw because of 'Glyphs+Packleader, and add a mana to my mana pool. Words activates, I pay it with that 1 mana, etc. It's an infinite, I think <<
Mana Echoes just feels so...unoriginal :xd: I mean, if I take it out, and add in, like, Lightning Bolt, or more search, it still works, just not as well...

Yeah, I wanted that deck for duelling, as mill decks are generally rather bad in multiplayer...but maybe I'll do some kind of sideboard, to swap out the single-player-oriented stuff
I have always wanted to make a multiplayer deck based off of casting Insurrection, and then cheating a Day of Dragons into play. Maybe some token generation for defense and for making the DoD hit harder would work. I have never spent lots of time on this deck - I am more just curious what you would come up with :D. I would prefer it was under 100$. I have a large card pool, and an extensive land base, so any colors aside from Red and Blue are also allowable.

A copy or two of Fabricate would be good to get Panoptic Mirror & / or Paradox Haze. Mana Leak is gonna be superior to Cancel. Chainer's Edict is superior to Cruel Edict because of flashback and Diabolic Edict is superior to it because of instant speed. A single copy of Mystical Tutor would be good here to nab Temporal Extortion when you need to. Needs more than just two shuffling effects to take full advantage from Brainstorm, I'd recommend six but at a bare minimum four. Lastly, I don't like Jace Beleren here, I'd be running Jace's Ingenuity. Also some mana acceleration would be useful.

Whenever a bear comes into play, it will deal damage from the surge, then draw because of 'Glyphs+Packleader, and add a mana to my mana pool. Words activates, I pay it with that 1 mana, etc. It's an infinite, I think <<
Mana Echoes just feels so...unoriginal :xd: I mean, if I take it out, and add in, like, Lightning Bolt, or more search, it still works, just not as well...

Yeah, I wanted that deck for duelling, as mill decks are generally rather bad in multiplayer...but maybe I'll do some kind of sideboard, to swap out the single-player-oriented stuff
