Well, Spiritmonger is probably one of, if not my most favored creature in magic. hes just to slow for real competitive play anymore, but I want a casual deck to utilize him.
So... Suggestion! One fun little card i found that could pair well with him, is Prey Upon. Forcing a little mini fight with between me and my opponents, that I will "always win" because I can regenerate if i were to die, and gain counters out of it. I see no downsides here.
I'm interested in others card suggestions, right now the list I'm messing with *and will post later on* just looks like a generic black/green control with a Spiritmonger wincon.

If it looks like a bug, sounds like a bug, and acts like a bug then it's probably working as intended.
Strictly? No. But budget is always a concern. I'm not going all out with lands, and will likely rely on terramorphics/wilds. So going three colors will have some problematic consistency drawbacks.

This is kind of lacking a good mid-range area :S The initial discard wouldn't be enough and the prey upon wouldn't be relevant fast enough.
I'd honestly cut the higher fat for some mid-rangy creatures to help ramp up, like sakura-tribe elder or yavimaya elder to chump until you can get your 5 mana spiritmonger.
I used to like elves of deep shadow, but it's kind of restricting, and the life eventually adds up. Depending if you NEED the mana-dork, I might suggest you going with Bird of Paradise (if you can) or Sakura-Tribe Elder if you can't.
I don't think you should plan on fighting ONLY with your Spiritmonger... finding some other creatures that could fight would be good. If you want to fight a lot, a red rock (jund) might be better for you, as it gets you contested cliffs and a lot of RG beasts that have control effects as well. Arc Slogger is one of them. (Don't laugh, it gets there.) Deathbringer thoctar is another good beast that gets there and fights well, as well as having a good second ability. Kitchen Finks in white could possibly fight, but I'd rather go in red for the fighting to happen.
The discard effects should be somewhat crippling so that you can sort of "get there" without any interference. If you're running white, gerrard's verdict is a must, while duress is always good. If you run red, you get blightning, which is awesome. I'm never sold on Inquisition of Kozilek, but that's because I like classic cards too much. I'd run a 3/3 split of Duress and Inquisition, or tailor it to your meta. Hymn to tourach is almost necessary.
(I'll probably edit with some more stuff)
In terms of removal/disruption, putrefy is always good. However, depending on what colors you run, you get a lot more stuff. In red you get obvious burn, (and also flametongue kavu, which can also fight; gets two creatures killed!) while in white you have mortify and all your fancy exile stuff. Also, a decent sweeper (as Bone_doc) already said was plague spoiler, and if you run white, Crime//Punishment. (http://magiccards.info/di/en/182.html, the link doesn't work well)
Its only real problem, and sort of a big one. It has no turn 1. At all... lol.
I've always looked at Gerrard's Verdict, and thought it was a ****ty hymn at best. Because i always figured it would just allow them to ditch things that didn't matter, like lands. But now thinking about that heath clause, its pretty impressive.
Edit: After looking at it, i could thin the list quite a bit.
What if you swapped out 1x StP and 1x Discard spell to add in 2 Punishment? That would be a good-ish sweeper against swarmy types of decks, and it can steal stuff too.

This virtual world is begining to feel more and more like Tron, exept with less motorcycles and more card games

I am a big fan of removal, and Putrefy is, in my opinion, necessary in all BG decks.
Thanks to GR @ Yavin IV Studios for the signature!
Discard:
Duress
Hymn to Tourach/Wrench Mind
Removal:
Doom Blade/Go For The Throat
Putrefy
Sweepers:
Plague Boiler
Creatures:
Sakura-Tribe Elder
Putrid Leech
Blastoderm
Birds of Paradise/Elves of Deepshadow
Augur of Skulls
Are some good cheap cards to include. You might want to shoot the user Kenneth Wong a pm, he is good at these types of budget rocks.
Other suggestions:
Yavimaya Elder for ramp.

I saw this tech for GSZ where you can use it to get dryad arbor, so it can be a turn one rampant growth or a turn 3+ tutor.
