Just starting to get into to mildly competitive play, going to FNMs and such. I'm looking for a deck that will be able to make it in standard once KTK comes into play. I know its hard to judge without knowing what is going to be coming out in the fall, but with my minimal budget (around $200) over time, it is best to plan ahead instead of getting RTR cards for the next few months. Thanks!
I'm probably at my best using an aggro deck, but do like some sort of removal in there as well. This has me leaning to GW, with a beater like Fleecemane Lion and removal like Banishing Light. Considering my budget, sticking to two colors is probably best.
I'm already in the process of building a theory deck in green white. I think it is gonna be versatile. You have your coursers and caryatid as efficient mana ramp and filtration. Hydras are good mana sinks, Nissa says play more forests. Karametra is ramp it out queen.
The thing I chose to do is look at whats in format, and what has already been spoiled and confirmed, and basing the bulk of the deck on that, leave room to flex so when Khans releases you can add in there, and use a few RTR block cards till then.
Cheapish good/alright cards in RTR to use before you lose are selesnya charm, loxodan smiter, centaur healer, and dryad militant.
The deck is there, and you run it as primarily green and splash in the white for removal, or token generation ex. banishing light and elspeth, sun's champion
