About two months ago I played a few DEs with a version of UG similar to the one used by BBD (I don't have any Master of Waves either) to win a PE around that time.
I went 3-1, 2-2, 1-2.
I found myself struggling with the sideboard, not sure what to side in and side out in some situations.
I would appreciate some insight in the various sideboard options against the predominant decks in the meta (Mono B, RG, Big Boros...).
The other day I tried this list in the 2-man queue:
It did fairly well in the mirror and against a UGB deck (basically a UG with splash for Thoughtseize, Ashiok, nightmare weaver and Heroes Downfall.
Maybe I just got lucky with the draws, I don't know (I began playing a couple months ago after a very long hiatus so my experience is lacking).
I still haven't played against GR and Mono B, fact that I found weird as those two decks are predominant.
BTW Goliat, how's your version with Vaporking in the sideboard working? Is Master of Waves that good?
Well, as I said before I find myself a little lost when it comes to sideboarding, any tips and examples will be greatly appreciated ^^
P.S. And also tips about the deck in general as this thread has been a little stale lately (maybe because there is nothing else to say ).
Well, the format is very broken right now, you shouldn't play anything other than naya if you want to win. I did write an article on this deck type last year if you still wanted some ideas.
That should be one of your better matchups, I would suggest that probably comes down to either something in your build or play/sideboard decisions. Not saying it's not possible to lose, of course, but you're fundamentally favoured imo. So many of their cards are simply bad against you, and it's hard for them to put up meaningful amounts of early pressure. They also don't have any planeswalkers (unless they're splashing for ashiok, which can be quite tough unless you're playing vaporkins).
I'm making mistakes for sure. Although almost all the games I went against:
Turn 1 Thoughtseize
Turn 2 Thoughtseize
Turn 3 Pharica's Cure to my Voyaging Satyr // Read the bones
Turn 4 Read the bones // Downfall my big guy if I had caryatids instead of satyrs.
I just couldn't keep up.
I also tryed to play the late game, keeping mana up for dissipates, annuls and cutting the main threats, but I was always short of solutions or mana.
Sideboarding out:
Voyages's end
Nylea
In:
Annuls
Bow of Nylea
Fade into antiquity
Also tried the sedge scorpions but with no success.
I'm curious about this deck with vaporkins and master of waves but looks like in the current meta it's an uphill battle.

Yesterday I lost badly vs Mono Black Devotion, twice. I'll have to reconsider a lot of things.
