In honor of The Legend of Zelda's 31st anniversary and to celebrate the impending release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, I present this decklist.
Like most Zelda games, BotW embraces the spirit of exploration, giving us a wide-open landscape to travel. However, BotW also emphasizes item gathering, particularly weapons as, in a novel move for the series, your weapons can and will break, encouraging you to find more by defeating enemies or purchasing them from shops (past Zelda titles only lightly touched on this concept with the Giant's Knife in Ocarina of Time and the Razor Sword in Majora's Mask). Another major type of item are foods that can be cooked together to create recipes that restore more hearts and sometimes provide bonus effects such as increased speed.
The theme of exploration says land ramp, the focus on weapons says equipment, and the cooking says lifegain. Coincidentally, there are several cards that manage to synergize those strategies quite well, such as Explorer's Scope, Loxodon Warhammer, and Grazing Gladehart. This decklist has a lot in common with my Link-themed decklist from a while back, though adding blue and red for additional card options.
Speaking of additional cards, another tool this deck uses to help support its themes is card draw. Kydele's ramp is, after all, based on how many cards you've drawn that turn, which in turn helps to cast Equipment.

Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
