Hey all, this is the first decklist for my commander of the month challenge. The short version of it is that I am going to roll a new random commander each month and build around them on a $75 max budget. I am giving myself a little leeway to reroll the commander that pops up randomly if its ancient, vanilla, total sucksville, or super expensive. However, I will not shy away from mediocre or unusual generals (that's the point of the challenge after all).
My first Legend doesn't seem that bad. Nefarox, Overlord of Grixis is begging to be played voltron style. Time to cross my fingers and hope I used the deck tag coding correctly! (err. . . it appears I didn't. Not sure why the card names aren't showing. I guess I'll go back and read the post about deck tags. Edit: fixed it!)
A few cards stand out that could see some use. Knight of Infamy - A cheap early game blocker that beefs your Nefarox later on in the game. Hatred - For when you really, really want that one guy dead. Greed & Underworld Connections - Some extra drawpower Nights' Whisper - To go with your Sign in Blood
Those seem like some good cards to round off your build. None of them should be really expensive either.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
Personally, I'd cut some of the creatures. Shriekmaw and Solemn Simulacrum are both general value cards but I think you'd be better off including an instant speed spot removal and maybe even just a basic land. Without a way to abuse them, they're better off just being those in my opinion. I'd say cut Everglades as well. It detracts from your swamp count which is detrimental to multiple cards you have. Last major cut I'd look at is probably Indulgent Tormentor? I dislike lettering my opponents decide what I do in regards to that, but it might be worth testing out?
As far as replacements or suggested adds? I see these cards being interesting.
Demons: Dread Cacodemon or Reiver Demon for being one-sided wipes in addition to a body. Kothophed, Soul Hoarder for Card Advantage (Perhaps over Harvester of Souls even).
Reanimation: Diabolic Servitude, Animate Dead, or Dance of the Dead for a way to grab Nefarox back from the yard when your boardwipe hits him.
Pump: Opal Palace seems like a decent way to get additional counters on Nerafox since you might be recasting him a couple times from your command zone. Trepanation Blade seems good with both Nighthowler and Bonehoard. It'll help fill the yard while pumping. Not sure if it's the best but it might be worth testing?
Wipes: Necromantic Selection is a one-sided wipe that allows you to grab Nefarox back after. With haste boots, it could be devastating.
Last card that I'll throw up could just be a fun card is Grave Betrayal. It goes against the Ideology of limiting your creatures, but with as many wipes and other forced sac you're running it could just give you a big enough army to just win.
Thanks for the suggestions! I had definitely considered other options over cards like Indulgent Tormentor and Everglades, but was keeping the budget in mind. I came in at $71 and some change spent on cards I didn't have for the deck, so I do still have some wiggle room for some cheap substitutions.
