Enter Breya, Etherium Shaper and you have a world of combo decks being made. Everywhere you go there are decks devoted to generating infinite mana and abusing her ability to damage players for wins. Much like Ghave, guru of spores it feels like she can combo with everything....and much like Ghave, I believe she is an absolute monster in the stax archetype. And I'm here to prove it.
Breya is literally the only general for not green antics (Legally anyway)
She offers a lot of abusable synergy with artifacts so you get the best of Esper, Grixis, Mardu, and Jeskai. Imagine that!
CREATURES
We run very few creatures in here since the deck mostly focuses on Breya and stax aspects but the few that are in here impact the game in a huge way
Aven Mindcensor- Very powerful in meta's with tons of fetch lands and tutors
Dark Confidant- With a vast Majority of the deck having a super low CMC and Breya's Ability to gain life if needed Bob is great in here. Not to mention if he's in an opening hand it's not uncommon to have him out first turn
Eldrazi Displacer- Combos with breya and Ironworks but also works well for blinking threats from attacking or working well with Breya
Goblin Welder- Tapping rocks then getting more rocks, abusing transmuter. This little guy lets us get back the most busted artifacts in the game for 1 mana
Master Transmuter- Can blink Breya and when used with clock of omens gives you tons of thopters. Not to mention how good she is with mana rocks and broken artifacts
Myr Retreiver - Bring back the best artifact from the graveyard. Works well with Breya and skullclamp
Notion Theif- Steals draws from opponents or cripples with wheels
Phyrexian Metamorph- Copies broken rocks or lets us have multiple copies of smokestacks
Snapcaster Mage- Just really good. With tons of tutors, counters, or draw 7's this guy is fantastic
Spellseeker- Finds transmute artifact for combos, mana drain for coutners, cyc rift for mass bounce, or demonic tutor for anything else
Spellskite- Prevents our better artifacts from dying and is a general pain for opponents
Trinket mage- Tutors up broken mana rocks early or skullclamp later
ENCHANTMENTS
Only three enchantments in here but they draw cards so that's nice
Mystic Remora- Often an one mana draw 4-5. Sure you have to pay mana but with so many rocks in the deck, it's fairly easy to keep alive
Necropotence- Often draws 3/4 cards a turn. With a low curve it's easy to play all the rocks and have counters and threats open as well. Easily can get you ahead after a cataclysm.
Rhystic Study- Draws us lots of cards since opponents can't often keep mana open
SORCERYS
Most of these are for tutors and plenty of draw effects. Few game enders
Armageddon- Game ender. We have tons of rocks so we don't care about this. Land a walker and Breya and game is over
Cataclsym- A mass wipe that lets us keep our best permaments and is low mana so it's easy to dump more threats after.
Paradox Engine- Can lead to infinite mana combos with things like Mox Opal/Transmuter or draw your deck with Clock/Top. But also is a good value engine
Fetches: Polluted delta, Flooded strand, Bloodstained Mire, Scalding tarn, Misty rainforest,Arid mesa, Marsh Flats- While I don't think you need all the fetches in a build that is mostly brown I'm messing around with how many would be best. I think 7 would be good and just skip the green lands that aren't Misty. Anyway these guys allow us to get which dual or shock we need at the time so we can cast whatever is needed
Hey guys so I've actually moved on from commander on to 60 card decks so I don't have any commander decks.
Anyway I've started my own gameplay channel in which I play games (Magic also)
I feel like you are really correct in your assessment of Breya and I too feel like she could be a monster at stax and I am excited to see where you take this. That said in your cards to test memory jar has been fantastic for me every thing I get use it especially if you can cheat it in early with a goblin welder

Hoping to finish up the cards I need in December (23 left and all of them are fairly cheap) but in testing I've noticed that I absolutlely need to add Memory Jar, Opposition, Junk Diver, Myr Retreiver, Blightsteel, Mycsonth Lattice, and like a billion other missing cards.
Again I don't want to make it a combo deck but have found that I'll likely be adding something as a finisher. I already can infinite with Clock/Lattice and forgemaster for Tophter sword. That was interesting and find.

+ Static Orb
+ The Abyss budget allowing
+ Opposition - creature light deck yes, but with Breya producing 3 creatures you should reliable be able to tap down your Winter Orb and Static Orb if you get these. Plus you can use it to tap down opponents stuff in a pinch as well
I made a Zur's Weirding deck when it was legal in a format called Type 2 back in the day, so I have a fondness for it. But I'm not sure about it in multiplayer. Particularly bad against natural life gaining decks, of which you have none. Works nice with Necropotence, but even Necro is looking a little suspicious with 14 black sources total in the deck. As you're the Stax deck, your opponents are probably not going to do the job of removing their cards for you and obviously you run the risk of needing your combo pieces in hand, otherwise they can let you have your whole deck except the win-cons.

Whats Staff of Domination for?
Static orb and Oppoisiton are on the short list of things to test. Abyss looks sweet too, likely gonna try that out but killing Goblin Welder seems iffy.
I like Zur's Weirding a lot here since Breya can gain life and I can just lock people out of drawing relevant cards. Thopter foundry also gains a ton of life with artifacts especially sword.
Never had much problem with Necropotence being cast in my other deck with similar manabase. Urborg and Gilded lotus both help out a lot there.
Staff I'm uncertain about as I'm not going super combo but seems like something I wanted to test how good it would be. Seems good with untapping forgemaster or friends

I don't know, obviously test out Zurs then, but ask yourself this question, what artifacts are you sacrificing to gain 5 life or to make a Thopter with Thopter Foundry? If you already have the Sword of the Meek+Thopter Foundry, then you are probably just naturally winning anyway, because Breya better ability of killing creatures will shut down most opponents strategies. With Clock of Omens and Mana Vault/Gilded Lotus you have infinite..everything. With Opposition you can tap down too much for opponents to be able to handle. I wouldn't say Sword of the Meek+Thopter Foundry and Zurs in the same breath.
Also test the artifacts lands. They can be used in a pinch with Goblin Welder, Master Transmuter, Transmute Artifact, or any sacrifice artifacts cards, just to get thresholds. Has a nice synergy with Land Equilibrium, that you can get your land level down to opponents. Also makes Crucible of Worlds better.

I plan to test these out as well. Issue I have with them is the manabase is fairly tight with 6/10/6 duals, fetches, shocks that I need to figure out which colors I can skimp on first before throwing those guys in.
I really want to add Inventor's Fair as well

Yeah maybe just try out Seat of the Synod. If you do play Tezzeret the Seeker (which you absolutely should!) then you can do another zero cost activation to get the land. That's a nice little interaction.
I have a 5 color artifact deck where I play all of them, but my build is more centric around abusing Unwinding Clock hence their importance.
That's fair. Blue is easily the most important color in here followed closely by black. Upon further inspection I have 5 white symbols in the whole deck currently so I may be cutting sacred foundry and maybe even plateau and flagstones.
Tezzeret is on the list and one of the best cards in there. If unanswered leads to free wins
Edit: Realized I forgot to put the walkers on the list. Changed that in

Btw, artifact lands are pretty hot in here, from when I was doing testing as well. You can tap them for the mana, and then use them to sac for her ability. If you use ways to get artifacts back into play, it is just to much utility with breya. I'll need to finish up my list so we can bounce back stuff off each other. I've been super busy though, and haven't looked at it as much lately.

Need to work on the manabase a bit and get more used to it. I'm considering cutting things like Sacred foundry, windsewpth heath, and wooded foothills for extra space but want to test out the deck a bit more until I'm more used to it. However that's fairly likely going to happen

So this is where I moved Stoneforger. After I compared our lists, I did a pretty big overhaul, mostly in those odd blue stax cards. But Nim Deathmantle has been my combo over the Sword of the Meek. The deathmantle has a bit more use outside of combo and combos with the leader for bitter ordeal off sac outlets. I think the changes were really minor, Rhystic Study, Nicky B, and and the sword, two other cuts for: Bitter Ordeal, Nim Deathmantle, Krark-Clan Ironworks, Ashnod's Altar. I know there were a few other cuts for a bit more control and Sun Titan was in there. I personally want to aim at making cuts for a few eggs and Salvaging Station. The fixing would actually be nice and snagging back artifact lands after a boardwipe w/ Station is pretty awesome. Breya bringing 3 artifact bodies to the table opened a lot of doors in other aspects of artifact decks I really wanna test here.
Edit: Just read the intro stuff. I know you're going for combos w/o her, but I think the deck would still be so far from the combo heavy decks you're fine. 9/10 aren't even using that as a combo piece either.

A lot of those cards I plan on testing in the future. I'm hesitant because of how I want to make this different from a typical Breya deck online so I'm working on testing out hidden gems first and seeing how it works with these less used cards that I think would be great. I want to add Memory Jar, Mycosinth lattice (Different combo maker), and Blightsteel next but afterwards I'll likely be adding some more used cards like Displacer/Ironworkers/Altar/etc.
So far it's been difficult to find many cuts but likely going to do something like Land Equilibrium and Bolas out first (I NEED TO ULT HIM FIRST)

Will be playing a lot of this deck tomorrow for more testing.
I may cut all the lands that don't tap for blue (Shocks, but keep duals, tomb, and fair) and eventually finish up the fetch lands needed.
Also likely adding seat of the synod and Exotic orchard.
Finally after more testing tomorrow I'll likely add Blightsteel, Memory jar, Lightning greaves, and some other goodies. Really depends on what I find lacking.

Played my first night with this deck and already made someone leave out of frustration. This deck was a blast to play.
MVP's
Kuldotha Forgemaster can actually combo with the artifacts in the deck and is always nice to find certain rocks in certain situations Tezzeret the seeker not a surprise but being able to gain 5 mana or search for most of the rocks in the deck was super good Uba Mask Early or after a wipe helps out so much. Pair it with wheels and everyone is hellbent while you can sac it whenever you feel like Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast- Makes blockers or fodder and can kill early ramp or threats. Chandra, torch of defiance Surprisingly good. The mana advantage was viable when orb effects where on board and with Weirding or Uba mask I can play cards off here without worry
I really enjoyed playing this deck and can't wait to bust it out next week

We have our EDH league's finals in a couple weeks and I like the idea of Breya stax, it sounds quite fun, but I have a few questions:
why the clock of omens? combo piece or just utility?
How do you plan to win outside of the sword/thopter combo?
If you had to play the deck to WAAC (Win at all costs) would you rather go with the sword/thopter combo or deathmantle/sac outlet?
Despite only having 6 creatures, would you still play The Abyss if you could sac your thopters if needed but it kept your opponents off creatures? Same question for Mana Vortex.
Clock is good for either combo, adding 3 mana with gilded lotus or tapping winter orb/static orb/Trinisphere (When I add them)
I'm adding Blightsteel to the deck soon for another win con. The planeswalkers can also win but I need to add more things like death cloud or devastation to help with that
Mox Diamond isn't in because I don't have an extra one. It's going in as soon as I can get another
Transmute artifact often finds mindslaver for easy wins

Ohhhh, I didnt think about using it to tap the orbs. Which combos are you talking about?
Would you still use Transmute for Mindslaver if in 4 person games?
You can forgemaster for clock. Untap master to search for lattice. Sac some other permaments to get foundry, sword, and lotus for infinite mana and kill with Breya.
Transmute for uba mask if you have a wheel is always solid. Or memory jar to get more cards as well. Mindslaver often though with welder or daretti for multiple turns. Most players here play with things like necropotence, toxic deluge, sylvan safekeeper and mindslaver can often kill that player. Also helps us draw cards if there is a remora or rhystic study.

Could you explain how the foundry, sword, lotus make infinite mana so I can make sure I do it in correct order if it comes to it?
Use forgemaster to get clock.
Untap and get lattice so you have enough rocks to untap forgemaster.
Sac lands or whatever and float mana to get foundry, lotus, and sword.
Tap lotus for 3 and sac sword to foundry. Use the token and sword to lotus. Repeat for infinite mana and search.
It's good to have Breya on board to kill mindcensor if needed

Ward of bones is just miles better in this type of deck so that's on the test list
Also non blue lands are far worse here so
-Mountain
-Swamp
-Plains
+3Island
Will be playing a lot of this deck tomorrow for more testing.
I may cut all the lands that don't tap for blue (Shocks, but keep duals, tomb, and fair) and eventually finish up the fetch lands needed.
Also likely adding seat of the synod and Exotic orchard.
Finally after more testing tomorrow I'll likely add Blightsteel, Memory jar, Lightning greaves, and some other goodies. Really depends on what I find lacking.
Anyway I've started my own gameplay channel in which I play games (Magic also)

MVP's
Kuldotha Forgemaster can actually combo with the artifacts in the deck and is always nice to find certain rocks in certain situations
Tezzeret the seeker not a surprise but being able to gain 5 mana or search for most of the rocks in the deck was super good
Uba Mask Early or after a wipe helps out so much. Pair it with wheels and everyone is hellbent while you can sac it whenever you feel like
Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast- Makes blockers or fodder and can kill early ramp or threats.
Chandra, torch of defiance Surprisingly good. The mana advantage was viable when orb effects where on board and with Weirding or Uba mask I can play cards off here without worry
Things I need to change
More all color lands
Exotic orchard should be added. Not sure what else since I have bad luck with Forbidden Orchard
Seat of the synod and the remaining fetches will likely be added soon
Needs more game enders like Blightsteel Colossus and more answers like counters and removal Swords to plowshares and kolaghan's command come to mind.
I really enjoyed playing this deck and can't wait to bust it out next week

why the clock of omens? combo piece or just utility?
How do you plan to win outside of the sword/thopter combo?
If you had to play the deck to WAAC (Win at all costs) would you rather go with the sword/thopter combo or deathmantle/sac outlet?
Despite only having 6 creatures, would you still play The Abyss if you could sac your thopters if needed but it kept your opponents off creatures? Same question for Mana Vortex.
Why no Mox Diamond?
What do you tend to get with Transmust Artifact?
I'm adding Blightsteel to the deck soon for another win con. The planeswalkers can also win but I need to add more things like death cloud or devastation to help with that
Mox Diamond isn't in because I don't have an extra one. It's going in as soon as I can get another
Transmute artifact often finds mindslaver for easy wins

He's on the short list of cards to test right now.
I need to make room for blightsteel and memory jar first but teferi is likely close to next after that
