This deck grew out of a Melek, Izzet Paragon build that was reasonably well tuned for the aforementioned legend. When the enemy colour commander decks were released, Mizzix stood out as being a significant improvement on Melek, to me at least. MUCH less work to build around, but with the same spell slinger style. And I've always liked that the experience counters stick.
As far as I know, there are no infinite combos in this deck. Not intentionally at least (now that I'm thinking about it, Djinn Illuminatus and High Tide?). It is a casual build in that I'm not going directly for the throat here, but this deck does hold its own. The biggest issue it has is keeping Mizzix on the board, so long as she sticks, everything else is super good.
Some of the choices here are a little off the beaten track I would guess. I've gone of the path for standard counterspells and such in order to maximize the benefit of cheaper spells from Mizzix, especially considering she will only reduce colorless mana.
I've made some slight changes to this deck recently, and it could certainly do with a couple more. There are a couple of weaker burn spells (Banefire, Shivan Meteor) that could go for better options. Im trying out Metallurgic Summonings as a way to generate some board presence. I'm uncertain how it will go with so many X spells in the deck, but generally it should be pretty good value. Creature wise, I feel like I could go either/or with Talrand, Sky Summoner, Young Pyromancer and the summonings, but trying them side by side will give me the truth of it. Keranos, God of Storms is a pretty weak inclusion here, and I don't think he will last the distance. Pinging for 3 is not enough, and I have better draw.
Other than all of this, I'm not sure if this deck has any particular manabase problems, but it does feel a little slow.

Retired - I don't play it often, and when I do my meta doesn't enjoy it. Neither do I. Most of the goodies here have been shifted over to Dralnu, which I enjoy much more.
