Themes

This deck is focus on graveyard loops and cards with Rebecca Guay art. Mana denial with Hokori, Dust Drinker serves a backup plan.

Combos

Saffi Eriksdotter plus Loyal Retainers equals an arbitrary number enters, leaves, and dies triggers, as well as an arbitrary number of creatures put into your graveyard for Asmira's triggered ability.

Protean Hulk plus a free sacrifice outlet (Altar of Dementia, Martyr's Cause, or Greater Good) lets you pull every creature out of your deck and loop any creature with Karmic Guide and Reveillark. See details here, because it's about the same as the old Boonweaver Giant combo. As this deck lacks black, it's harder to win on the spot. Altar of Dementia can potentially make each opponent lose on their next draw step. Otherwise, the plan is lock opponents out by looping Managara of Corondor with Lightning Greaves or Sun Titan and Ghost Quarter. Sun Titan plus Sylvan Safekeeper provides an arbitrary amount of mana. Mentor of the Meek lets you draw your deck if needed. With Greater Good as the sacrifice outlet, you may need to use Loaming Shaman to avoid decking.

Pattern of Rebirth plus a sacrifice outlet and a creature lets you perform the above combo. The same goes for Academy Rector, as it finds Pattern of Rebirth.

Sun Titan plus Saffi Eriksdotter or Angelic Renewal or Fiend Hunter plus a sacrifice outlet equals an arbitrary number of activations, enters triggers, dies triggers, and creatures to your graveyard for the turn.

Renegade Rallier plus Saffi Eriksdotter or Angelic Renewal plus a sacrifice outlet does the same.

Reveillark plus Karmic Guide or Saffi Eriksdotter plus a sacrifice outlet does the same.

Strong Synergies

Hokori, Dust Drinker plus Seedborn Muse gives you significant mana advantage in most cases.

Seedborn Muse plus Yisan, the Wanderer Bard provides lots of creatures.

Seedborn Muse plus Gavony Township can make your creatures larger enough to eliminate players in a 40-life format.

Fecundity constitutes a huge risk but I'm going to try it because of the high ceiling and Rebecca Guay art.

This deck gets Guay basics from C16! I don't think I'll try any of the new cards. Conqueror's Flail has merit, but I don't know what I'd cut.

I decided to cut some of the more expensive cards and some of the lower-impact Guay cards: Genesis, Primal Command, Mulch, Moment's Peace, etc. I cut Gift of Immortality for Recruiter of the Guard. I added some more mana-fixing and card advantage in the form of Sylvan Library, Weathered Wayfarer, and Tithe. I'm trying out Mirror Entity as a combo piece and a way to make my tiny creatures in threats. I haven't played the deck much overall, but it's done reasonably well when I have.

I think I'm going to add Greater Good as another sac outlet. I should still be able to perform the Boonweaver Giant combo with it, though it gets a lot more complicated. I believe that means I need Loaming Shaman as a way to avoid decking myself since I don't have an instant win with Blood Artist or anything like that. I'm also considering adding Woodfall Primus because of the synergy with Heartmender and Gavony Township.

So I've now made the changes described in the above post. I've also decided to remove Root Maze and add Natural Order to swap out Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit for Melira, Sylvok Outcast.

I hope someday somebody exiles my Mangara of Corondor with Oblivion Ring or similar and I can sacrifice Asmira, Holy Avenger to Natural Order to get Reclamation Sage or Woodfall Primus to get Mangara back.

Fixed that for you.

While Krosan Verge is arguably the best out of itself, Myriad Landscape and Blighted Woodland, the effect is so strong that I like running all three. There's also a team of creatures which sac themselves for a land: Diligent Farmhand, Dawntreader Elk and Sakura-Tribe Elder. These are obviously better for the Asmira beatdown plan than the various combo plans.

I recently removed Life from the Loam for Sol Ring. I additionally swapped out the two cycling lands for basics. I plan to add Scattered Groves when Amonkhet comes out.

Well, now that Protean Hulk has been unnbanned and I've acquired a copy, I'm making changes to this deck. Will update soon. I know I'm replacing Boonweaver with Hulk and cutting the whole counters-matter package (Woodfall Primus, etc.). With Hulk as a creature to find with Natural Order, I don't feel I need Primus.

I just picked up a Mana Crypt, which this deck will get to use. We'll see if it helps.
