Sorry if this post is not as elaborate as the premier Prossh list created by bighaben and Feverous, but I really need some help.
You see, I did look up that list the very first moment I decided that Prossh would be my signature deck. A lot of cool, neat and potent cards came into view for me, cards I didn't even knew about. But the problem is, I think my deck is suffering from "goal dilution", and I don't know how to fix it.
My meta is turning out to be competitive (not hyper competitive), and deck tuning is in order. Take into account I cannot spend too much money right now on decks, so I kindly ask you don't suggest cards that are too over the top (like dual lands). Thx in advance!
So what do you want to do with the deck? That's the first question that you need to ask yourself, because there are a few ways for prossh to be a successful top deck. For me tokens and Vicious Shadows with a sac outlet (Ashnod's Altar/Goblin Bombardment are the first that come to mind for me) is a cheap win con.
It seems like you're relying on Prossh + commander damage as a major win, which is fine but you need to make that distinction for yourself. My only issue with TRONing up on Prossh is that, you're not really protecting him. Grieves are in but then you can't target for all the double strike effects you have. Another issue that I find is that most decks have spot removal of some sort so making one beater win the game is harder when there is mana open. Effectively, from personal experience, a haste enabler (Fires of Yavimaya, Sarkhan Vol, Urabrask, the Hidden etc.) and Beastmaster Ascension wiht Prossh is generally better for damage output.
You have Purphoros/Impact Tremors suit in your list, so tokens is a good are to narrow your deck focus. I would add Chancellor of the Forge over Butcher, same overall CMC and the effect is greater with numbers and Purphoros out.
BTW this is all personal opinion, and I, in no way are trying to offend or criticize choices, I'm just sharing my opinion and experiences with a deck that I have loads of success with. Hopefully this helps in some way.
No, you are spot on with the critique. I need to branch and solidify either Voltron or Token Spit. Mind if I take ideas from your list? I might even do a post of my own. My meta has A LOT of blue, so I guess I'll have to put things like Savage Summoning and Boseiju, Who Shelters All.
The only thing I am worried about is that if I concentrate on tokens, I'll be very vulnerable to swipes.
Yeah no worries that's why we post, for everyone's benefit. Fun trick, Prossh's tokens are a cast trigger so they would resolve even if Prossh is countered, my friends run counters as well.
I agree with the tokens problem, but I run cards like Vicious Shadows and Goblin Bombardment, that can punish board clears in response. Again, from experiences board clears are prevalent in most situations anyways, so finding ways to bounce back or to respond are good contingents for most game scenarios.
