MTG Salvation

Hello fellow Commander players. This is my first post and first homebrewed deck. While other decks I've built in the past are netdecks. And I know how some folks frown upon those that play those types of decks but it's to learn different play-styles. This is a Kresh the Bloodbraided group-slug. My Girlfriend plays a Phelddagrif groupslug. With our playstyle it brings a breath of fresh air to our favorite game shop commander nights. Both of us like to kill people with kindness so I present you Kresh the Loanshark

Kothophed, Soul Hoarder can be pretty gross and prove to be a untimely death for myself I like having the choice of draw and lifeloss. The political portion of the deck is the key win. But Bloodgift Demon is actually a good move and a good political token.

Very cool deck. Just glancing at work but may take a closer look later as I'm a big fan of Kresh. You need to add Forbidden Orchard.

One other thing I noticed is there aren't any cards as far as I can tell that can make use of Braid of Fire. That mana empties out of your mana pool before your main phase so you can't use it for any sorceries, creatures, or enchantments.

My best friend is picking up a Forbidden Orchard for me and my gf thanks for the suggestion.

Seems pretty solid. I'm personally not a fan of greed (I run it, but more for flavor than effect). If I wanted that specific effect, I'd probably run Erebos, God of the Dead first, though in your deck I might be tempted to run Graveborn Muse or Bloodgift Demon as extra arena effects.

Although, since you give players so many tokens, have you thought about Kothophed, Soul Hoarder?

If you want to buff your pestilence theme a bit, you also have access to Withering Wisps, Pestilence Rats, Pestilence Demon, Pyrohemia, and Thrashing Wumpus.

Probably in about that order.

I will put in a Erebos, God of the Dead in replace of Greed

Really cool deck. I've wanted to build something along these lines for awhile, but could never quite put together a list I liked.

If you really wanna add a mean card to the Group Slug side of the deck, Death Cloud could do a lot of work for you. With Magus of the Vineyard and the like along with a slightly higher focus on mana rocks could be pretty backbreaking. It's also a card a lot of playgroups and people frown upon abusing, so take that for what you will.

Pharika, God of Affliction would probably fit nicely. It straddles the line between hug and slug and gives good utility. It gives a creature, but it also eats their yard.

Tombstone Stairwell is a pet card of mine that seems like it could do some work in a deck like this.

Something like Backlash could do a good job of protecting yourself should someone get a little uppity and try to kill you with something big and nasty. Probably too cute, but I've always enjoyed the card.

Painful Quandary is another card that can really turn the screws once you're deck shifts from hug to slug.

Had a blast of playing this deck and this is the major update that I've done to it. I've had some mana issues but I need to play more games to play test it out. So far its doing exactly what I want it to do. In my last game I was playing in a commander league at my favorite shop. It's pretty casual and we play to have fun. It really boiled down to the last turn. The Tasigur player was Dredging himself and on his turn I convinced him to play Army of the Damned while I have Primal Vigor out. The next player was playing a Weird control Pheildagrif deck and kept giving tokens out to the Prime Speaker Zegana player. He received 8 hippo tokens and gave me 12 hippo tokens. He proceeded to give the Zegana player life and swing at him. On the Zegana player turn he durdles and end his turn. On my turn I plays Hunted Troll give the Pheildagrif player 8 fairys. And played Rakdos Charm and followed it up with Massacre Wurm for game.
