Got a request to post the decklist for this, so here we go. Basically, it's a gimmicky mono-green list dedicated to abusing Nacatl War-Pride. Staples will find their place alongside jank as I attempt to run a deck that has its primary creature in the 99. This build is almost completely untested, so I may have some holes in the deck that need fixing. That said, this won't be as cutthroat a list as some of my decks; it's the deck I'll take out against the more casual players at my LGS.
Some Card Justifications: Kamahl, Fist of Krosa: He can turn opponent’s lands into creatures so as to get more NWP tokens, unleash instant-speed Overruns, and act as an anti-wrath rattlesnake of sorts. Jolrael, Empress of Beasts: The deck’s backup commander. Kamahl’s instant-speed Overruns sealed the deal in his favor, but this lady can be nasty. Target an opponent with this and you give your opponent a nasty choice to make. Block your 3/3 tokens with their 3/3 lands, or drown in cats. Champion of Lambholt: Can get very big very fast courtesy of NWP, then has the politeness to make all the tokens really hard to block. Ivy Lane Denizen: Dumps counters on the original NWP to help it survive, or dump them on Champion/Ibex for more fun. Karametra’s Acolyte: Assuming I’m right and the tokens copy the original NWP’s mana cost, each token gives 3 devotion. Many tokens=much mana=many activations of Kamahl’s Overrun ability. Garruk’s Packleader/Elemental Bond: NWP tokens are at that perfect sweet spot to take advantage of both of these to draw obscene numbers of cards. Pathbreaker Ibex: Stack the triggers properly when you attack, and all your NWPs will be 6/6 at minimum. Strionic Resonator: Double NWP triggers means more cats. It also works with some other cards in the deck. Sundial of the Infinite: End the turn with the end step exile trigger on the stack to keep all my NWP/Mimic Vat tokens. Bow of Nylea: Deathtouch will make blocking tokens a lose-lose proposition, plus the activated abilities are all solid. Coat of Arms/Parallel Lives/Doubling Season: Obvious choices are obvious. Fecundity/Death’s Presence: Chances are, lots of tokens are going to fall in battle. These cards help me profit from that. Whispersilk Cloak: The perfect equipment for NWP. No targeting and no blocks mean only sweepers can stop the cat. Riftsweeper: If NWP gets exiled, this is my only means to get it back. Mimic Vat: It’s a solid card in its own right, but I mainly run this because like NWP, the Vat is another card that works great with Sundial of the Infinite. Waiting in the Weeds: Janky and noncompetitive, but this was a favorite card of mine back in the day and this was the only deck I could see myself running it in. Carpet of Flowers: There’s a lot of blue decks running around at my LGS, so this could do some heavy lifting. Tempt with Discovery: I may not be running Cradle (courtesy of the jillion dollar pricetag), but this can fetch up Maze of Ith/Rogue’s Passage/Reliquary Tower when I need it, plus I think a lot of the people in my meta are the sort to take the offer. Oblivion Stone: One boardwipe, just in case. Craterhoof Behemoth: The classic token deck finisher…but I’m not sure about it. It doesn’t work well with NWP’s ability like Kamahl or the Ibex. This is on the short list for cuts. Maze of Ith/Rogue’s Passage: Excellent Lands for helping NWP survive combat.
Looks like a fun deck. I think you'll want ezuri's predation as it fits the theme of the deck. I still think bloodspore thrinax and skull mulcher are going to be evil in here, even if you only sacrifice a few tokens.
Holy hell, how'd I forget Thrinax. Definitely making room for that. Skullmulcher also looks pretty sexy. Might try to get one of those. Predation too, probably.
Oh yeah. In reference to your nacatl war pride question, yes, the tokens are copies, so that includes mana cost. Devotion is your friend, so I really suggest nykthos, shrine to nyx as well as nylea or similar for additional trample.
If you want devotion, but aren't sure where to get something absolutely terrifying, even if it is win-more, then find a goody called "primalcrux." Him+ the war pride is a terrifying little combo and will end the game right there if nothing else does.
It's not a direct combination or janky, but siege behemoth is probably worth a look, too. It turns war pride into "for each creature they have, they are taking 3 times that in damage".
