In spite of it having some really strong cards like Tabernacle and Bazaar in it, the deck still feels really underpowered when I play it. I often find my life total dropping too low before I can get some kind of lock out with Glacial Chasm, so I often just lose to everyone else. Does anyone have any suggestions for cuts/additions I could make?
Some of the differences between my list and yours is our artifact and enchantments. I prefer to run no rocks at all, and more enchantments that accelerate or have landfall effects, like Burgeoning, Manabond, Retreat to Hagra and Retreat to Kazandu. Also Prismatic Omen and Valakut combos really well with Scapeshift, Genesis Wave and Manabond.

I never really liked Burgeoning or Manabond, they only seem good on the first turn or two, and after that they're dead. How have the retreats been? They're an interesting choice.
Burgeoning is a key combo piece with Titania, Ob Nixilis and Retreat to hagra. Creeping Rennaissance or Ad Nauseum and dropping all the lands in hand into play wins games. I've won a game with Valakut and Prismatic Omen in play, dropping Burgeoning, bringing back 20+ lands into hand with Creeping Rennaissance, then eot dropping them all with Burgeoning. Manabond is weaker, but it enabled extra landfall. As I've said, Retreat to Hagra is a win con, and both retreats serve to buffer life for Ad Nauseum quite significantly. No one thinks much of them, until you're dropping 2 or 3 lands each turn.

I think you got Burgeoning and Manabond mixed up, but I get what you're saying How many lands do you run ot of interest? Any chance you have a list up somewhere?
I was debating building a similar deck - though with the additional strategy of punishing my opponents for their land drops (e.g. Collective Voyage plus Tunnel Ignus etc).
Seems you have a solid list, though Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle and Prismatic Omen would be great additions - as axelsior suggested before me already.
Why don't you use more landfall abilities, such as Avenger of Zendikar, Omnath, Locus of Rage or Rampaging Baloths. They're solid win conditions and give you some serious board presence.
Also, my main question: why Xira Arien of all Jund Legends?

Due to running stuff like Ad Nauseam and Dark Confidant, it's better to keep the curve low in my experience, which is why nothing in here goes over 5CMC. Xira Arien is great because she's very low threat, but also helps to get some card advantage quite quickly over the course of the game. None of the other possible legends really stand out to me either tbh.
It's exactly as InertMaterials says. Most games I've drawn over half a dozen cards with Xira. The only other Jund commander that comes close is Shattergang Brothers for its utility, but it's not ideal for the current build.

I've also considered Prossh as another win-condition that also creates a whole ton of blockers, but I still think Xira takes the cake.
I'd actually lose Chromatic Lantern (you shouldn't really need the mana fixing), and keep Aggressive Mining. It's like a slow Ad Nauseum in the mid/late stages of the game.

I'm kinda keen to try out Mining again, I just don't think lantern is the correct cut. I currently run 5 non-mana producing lands, as well as a lot of colourless lands as well, so I've always found the extra fixing invaluable when trying to do life from the loam+cycling land chains for example.
Looking at the new set,the only interesting cars i see is Mina and Den. Extra land drop is always nice and the ability to re- use landfall effects seems very useful.

Yea, that's the only card I'm putting in so far. It's also really sweet with stuff like Bazaar of Baghdad or Cabal coffers to untap them twice a turn+.
I would run more Exploration effects like Sakura-Tribe Scout. There's another creature that does the same thing, but at sorcery speed for 1 mana (G). Can't remember the name now.
I've been running Mortuary Mire over Volraths Stronghold. I like that it taps for coloured and triggers etb. Mirror pool might be 'win more', but it's definitely a card we could consider.

Mire isn't something I had considered in place of Stronghold, but I think it more begs the question is this is the kind of effect the deck wants. I think there's really only 3-4 creatures the deck might want to recur, though it does work in well with Entomb/Dredging Life from the loam. Something to consider i guess?

I was running those, but cut them for the more powerful Burgeoning and Manabond. Wouldn't mind putting Scout back in though, just have no idea what to cut for it.
Mire has mostly been used to get back Eternal Witness or Skullwinder to grab some thing else later. With the inclusion of Mina and Denn, it might be stronger than Stronghold.

You bring up an interesting point, might have to give it a try. What do you think might be cut for Mirrorpool?
My list only runs 8 or 9 colourless mana sources, so I'm not sure how strong Mirrorpool will be. I'll need to rethink the mana base if I want to run it - which at the moment I don't think I'll need.

Skyshroud Ranger. I think Explore should be good enough for consideration as well, even if it's just a 1-shot.

I feel like the removal of Rule 4 actually hurts the Mirrorpool inclusion, so I think I might have put it on the backburner for now
I'm considering making this into a primer at some point soon, so your input on that would be greatly appreciated in the future when i get round to it

Being creatures they are a bit more easily removed. It's true that they enable some cute landfall tricks, but they don't do much else. We run Azusa, because it's simply good, Oracle of Mul Daya because it let's us potentially filter, and so on. Those creature that require tapping are slow to activate. We already run the best 1 mana ramp spells in Exploration and Burgeoning. Not having an immediate effect hurts.
