This deck was created with the purposes of not combo-ing off like a monster, while still being able to kill people quickly.
Its been majorly play tested, however there has been recent changes to my meta, so 10 cards were switched to accommodate. Any feedback would be great.
I like Impact Tremors, but its not good enough here... We spam tokens, but not hard enough for Impact to win me the game. Plus... Impact tremors has no protection. The fun thing about Purphoros, is he is basically an indestructible enchantment. Under pretty much no circumstances, should Purphoros, EVER become a creature and if he haaaaaas to. You have to make it so its a soft creature. What I mean by this, is you need to have some of the sources of Red Devotion be creatures and a sac outlet. If at any point an opponent targets Purphoros, or your sac outlet. You NEED to sac a red creature to get his devotion under the requirement. Exile effects are much more prevalent for creatures then enchantments, and losing our bass man, is kinda big deal.
Due to this, Impact tremors feels more like a dead card. If I wouldn't tutor for it specifically. I don't really want it, and it will likely be a side removal.
Side Removal Scenario: Player plays hull breach to kill artifact, has option to murder enchantment sees Impact Tremors and goes I guess I'll drop that too.
You mean your prossh deck caused your play group to need to be even more powerful just to keep up with you, and then it became too intense, so you took the deck a part?
...Like a nuclear arms race with the leader of the race dropping out and switching from nukes to water guns...
Prossh will do that...or make everyone hate you. I just made the deck and it's so good it's not fun for my normal play group.
Haha, somewhat. So what would happen is anytime I revealed my commander I would have to face all of my opponent's fire. Which is rouuuuugh. The bad part, is I could still win like this about 40% of the time, fighting off 4+ people. I had a friend of mine keep making comments about the deck about how it was pushing our meta to not okay places (MLD, Stasis, Infinite Combo). I decided playing without those aspects is more fun than forcing Prossh to work.
Cheers to everyone wanting to play Prossh. The current list is more focused towards mid-range. If you want a more aggressive deck, change some powerhouse cards out for mana weenies. There is/was a really good Prossh Primer that I tinkered with to remove the cheesy aspects.
You aren't thinking mean enough. Food Chain, makes it so you can infinite loop Prossh, get Infinite Mana, and Infinite Tokens. Splice in a Haste outlet and +1 damage from anything, or damage from sac/ETB. Heck with infinite mana, you can just tutor for it.
Well, yeah, I'm well aware of the combo. I have it in my prossh. I was just asking about the two creatures, though. Can't always tell how not mean somebody is trying to be.
