So, like many, I felt as though Meren of Clan Nel Toth was immediately the most interesting (not to mention powerful) of the new generals from Commander 2015. I decided to whip up a list. This is what I devised:
There's a few cards that I want and simply don't have which I would like to add. I own no copies of Bone Shredder or Liliana, Heretical Healer, and I don't own enough copies of Nissa, Vastwood Seer, Verdant Catacombs or Bayou. And of course there's the fact that there are just too many great cards for you to fit them all in one EDH deck, so lots of cards got left on the cutting room floor. I initially had about 130 non-land cards to choose from. Halving that was no easy task, I promise.
So, based on my existing decklist and strategy, are there any obvious holes or additions that have good synergies with what I already have?
This is amazing advice. Use creatures that fetch lands on ETB triggers or LTB triggers instead of sorceries. I think Meren needs bare minimum 33 creatures, and the more lower CMC creatures the better. You wont always have 8 exp counters. So have things to return to play early on that will help you ramp into fatties. I say this because Meren is very meh if you cant return things to play every turn. Sure, some turns you cant get things back to play, but you shouldnt bank on only returning fatties. Your little dorks should pull some weight. They make great blockers and Grave Pact/Birthing Pod fodder.

GGG [Primer] Omnath, Big Green Beatstick Machine GGG
Also how have Catacomb Sifter Smothering Abomination and Reaper of the Wilds worked for you? These are cards I considered but didn't have at time of building my deck should they perhaps be tested?
A bit more tokens and ramp, less good stuff...
Swap Thragtusk for Deranged Hermit.
Signet for Rampant Growth, Farhaven Elf or similar. Green has much better ramp than a signet.
