Been messing around with Zur the Enchanter as a reanimator general, looking for some opinions on how viable it is and suggestions on how to improve the list.

Imo, you have one too many protection spells. I'd lean towards a Stifle for things like Bog that will interupt reanimation. It looks like your reanimation is a way to control as opposed to winning, which is really great to see, but what're your plans to close the game? Commander damage? Def intrigued by the add. I have a little padawan who's picked up Zur. I've been using your lists to help him, but this is one is one of the more interesting varations I've seen altogether. Hope you take it further
No disagreement on the protection thing, Rebuff the Wicked is on its way out, I just need to acquire a Trickbind to replace it. Main plan to close games is to kill with Zur, but occasionally it can win with Void Winnower and Iona, Shield of Emeria beats, because they're stats are nothing to scoff at. Additionally, I have dropped Magus of the Moat to try out Sphinx of the Steel Wind. Not sure if it will be worth its slot, but only testing will tell.
I can personally speak to the power of the sphinx. It can hold back a lot, that life starts to make a very big difference, and cloning it can become a board lock if you don't have a lower curved control deck. I think it'd fit into the idea you're going for.
