Alright, so lets get started with a short history. The moment I saw the Gods, I fell in love and when I discovered there would be 15, I wanted to put all of them in a commander deck. The deck started as basically a Superfriends deck that I pretty quickly decided didn't have any impact and was just kind of meh. I decided to push more focus onto enchantments and the gods themselves.

Some other stuff: Firstly the land base is something I feel pretty confident in. A couple changes certainly can be made (I need the get my hands on the last 2 fetches), and I'm probably gonna get myself a set of the enemy checklands to replace the painlands, but I had to put some value into coming into play untapped when I first made the deck. Trying to decide if its the right choice and would like some feedback.

The ramp is rather useful as it actually lets me get some great stuff going especially if I have an enchantress type card to start getting value. Again its worked rather well but anything I should change would be well appreciated.

The Starfield and Archive are some recent editions to be tested out. Same with the Helm but that might stay just for flavour. The bow is super versatile and the life gaining ability alone has saved me numerous times, not to mention putting useful tools back in my deck to tutor up. The replenish is something I'm a little iffy on and am considering taking it out for something like Calming Verse due to my recent hard loss to a Zur pillow fort Sanctuary/Decree deck. Maybe the Phenax solves that problem as is though.

The tutor's are nice and generally this is a deck where I never find myself tutoring the same cards every time, though Prophet+Kruphix is one that comes up when I want it to. Phenax is a good win con when I need it and generally all the gods can generate a lot of value.

Mayael is an interesting card and can do a lot but its not something I feel particularly sure about. Same with Rafiq, who is there to turn my general into a kill con the turn after I play my general, though my general doesn't often get dropped. I would replace my general with Child of Alara but my playgroup has this ridiculous hate towards that thing that I have to avoid it like the plague.

My complaints about the deck: I feel like I have a bit of a lack of focus. Its my biggest weakness when building commander decks and I would love some feedback on how to fix it in this deck and how to fix it overall. I love the theme and its tons of fun to play but some serious improvements would be highly appreciated. I 'm thinking I should add in a couple more sweepers to up the interaction a bit but the deck isn't about high interaction. Another thing I'm missing is good black and/or red enchantments to put my gods online. I really don't know what my options are but if anyone has some good suggestions for good black and/or red enchantments, feel free.

What is your decks game plan? What is your win condition? Playing gods is all well and good, but you need a goal in mind. You did say focus is your weak point, so let's find it together. When you play the deck what are the stronger cards, the cards you are excited to see? What cards lead to you winning? Is there a certain combination of cards you are looking to get out?

Also, Progenitus being a god means he is good flavor choice. Karona, False God may be the better flavor choice, but Progenitus is cooler.

Well if I were to describe the wincon is basically a beatdown deck with very difficult to remove creatures, that attempts to overpower the opponent through value, particularly the enchantress engine and cards like Sylvan Library with Thought Reflection/Alhammarret's Archive. Alternate win con includes Phenax, though if my opponent has an Eldrazi its not particularly effective. Good against other opponents however.

Though Karona, the False God is chocked full of flavor for a God tribal EDH deck, you would basically need to remove Mogis, God of Slaughter because then the opponent who would get control of Karona can just as easily sac her due to the ability; it's too crippling a nonbo.

Child of Alara would be the obvious choice because you basically have 15 indestructible permanents in your deck. Child is frowned upon in most circles so if you do run it, be prepared to have a very fast early game because you will be headhunted. That said, Progenitus is really not all that welcome either because of its protection from everything. That's the granddaddy of all commander damage clocks.

EDIT:
Thinking on the Karona + Mogis conundrum, I think it could work out due to how things enter and resolve from the stack. During an opponent's turn, that player gains control of Karona, so that Karona trigger enters the stack first due to that opponent being the active player. You, not being your turn, your status as non-active player means that your Mogis trigger enters the stack afterwards. So, Mogis resolves first - before Karona's under your opponent's control, then that player gains control of Karona, thus, no longer able to sac Karona to Mogis's ability. I'm pretty sure I'm correct on this. If I am, then go for it. And each time you attack with Karona just say the world "God" while your opponents cower in fear exclaiming "Oh, God!", lol.

This is inspired by the Karona primer and it involves abusing enchantments. I've yet to fully test it beyond solitaire games but I like what I'm seeing. I'm drawing lots of cards and also dishing out tons of damage. I'm fairly pleased. Of course this is but a draft, but I really like Karona as a general so I want to take eventually have the torch passed to me being as the Karona primer will probably be retired soon.

I really like the idea behind Karona, but the thing that gets me is the potential loss of the required devotion when she goes away. I like Karona and she's good flavor, I just feel she doesn't have good mechanical interaction with the gods. That said if you have gods that still have enough devotion, she's blocked all day. I'll try some games with her as general to see how it feels. I was considering giving Cromat a go as well as a test.

Karona can't get blocked if she's unblockable. There are 3 enchantments that give her protection from creatures, 1 that makes her unblockable, while others give her flying and trample. Additionally, it's set up so that she can't attack you. Even if opponents were able to block Karona, it would have to be an extraordinary situation. Of course, Karona's only cast when it's most convenient to you.

Besides the fact of Karona killing off everyone for you, she's also a tribal commander. So swinging with her while all your creatures have trample, vigilance, or are simply unblockable while you merely mention "God" when her ability triggers means that you win by an overwhelming army with overwhelming damage.

Cromat is cute but I don't know if it can get the job done as commander. I really suggest you take up Child of Alara in order to abuse the fact that you have 15 indestructible permanents minimum in your deck.

I feel like you have to max out on permanents to enable devotion. To that end, here are some cards that are decent for devotion while filling other roles:

I have a feeling Child is gonna end up as my commander just for the power of its effect. Its a card I've never understood the hate for as it simply punishes boardwipes as long as I'm not running sac outlets. I am gonna try the Karona build, as a separate build, for a while to see how that feels. Thanks for all the insight on commander choice. Helps me make some decisions.

Trace of Abundance and Fertile Ground seem like interesting ramp choices and when I change my general make good replacements for cards like Rafiq. Had never thought of Necropotence for the deck as its very single color intensive but I might put a Phyrexian Arena in instead. The thing I need to go with it is some good lifegain. I have never seen Oubliette before, but it seems like a good choice for removal with Detention Sphere, and it helps my rather weak black devotion.

Would anyone happen to have good Red Enchantment/permanent suggestions to hold up my red devotion?

Edit: Outpost Siege sounds really good actually. Its a great card for that role that I should have gone with, especially as an extra card draw spell on top of being an enchantment.

• Boros Reckoner isn't quite the same powerhouse in EDH that he was in Standard, but I suspect he's still good since he scales with the effects your opponents play.
• Chandra, Pyromaster brings fair devotion along with another Phyrexian Arena-style effect. Similarly, Outpost Siege.
• Ashenmoor and Boartusk Lieges are solid devotion and pump many of your gods.

As for gaining life, it's not the best at devotion but Faith's Fetters is a great card in this format and at least it contributes to waking up Heliod and friends. More suggestions likely to come since I recently brewed up (but haven't built or played) a similar 15-God deck.

For life gain, try True Conviction. It super helps devotion and gives your creatures double strike to boot!
