Background
Karador is a known entity. He has his staples like Entomb and Buried Alive acting as tutors. He has his power cards and good targets for reanimation like Grave Titan and the like. Karador is pretty much a "solved" commander for building him to be a super powerful value engine. I've played that build before and if I have to play it again, I might scream. Games tend to play out the same way a lot. Fine for 1v1 format, where you are trying to win. Not so good for a multiplayer format where I'm happy to sit down and sling some spells and win later.
Since I've been playing Magic, Kamigawa has always had a special appeal. It was before my time, but I loved the story, the art, the characters and the mechanics and I stand by my claim that Kamigawa is the set which has had the biggest impact on Modern. So, when I noticed how well Karador played with various spirits, I had to build a deck.
How the deck is built to run
Kami-Dor is designed to sit there, appear none threatening with its low impact spells and build up a board presence and start to grind out value. Every spirit you cast should trigger some ability and improve your boardstate or position. Every spirit that dies should recur you another spirit and allow you to keep looping them. Karador, Ghost Chieftain is both a spirit to trigger abilities, and lets you cast spirits from your 'yard to let you keep grinding out value. Birthing Pod +1s you and tutors up a creature. Evolutionary Leap basically lets you recur a spirit from the graveyard and draws you a card. Survival of the Fittest lets you set up huge chains you can then soulshift to fill your hand.
Another highly important card is Elder Pine of Jukai. A very innocuous looking card, it is easily cast, easily recurred and easily tutored. He is a fantastic card for thinning the deck out, filling your hand up with land and letting you keep casting things on curve.
Once you are in a good position, you can either try to loop one of the Star Dragons to lock your opponents out or kill them, or use Mirror Entity to deal lethal in a single turn. Another option is to go all in using Iname, Death Aspect and Patriarch's Bidding to create a great army.
Partly theme, partly I like the body, partly I like the art in foil, but recurring Crib Swap is a thing. 5 is also a highly important spot in the Pod chain, for the Star Dragons, Aspects and Sanity's Eclipse. I would rather be +1 any spirit and then pod up into the 6 so I can trigger them right away.
