Something that started about a year ago (as Sheoldred) and has slowly evolved into this.

Basically just for kicks, but its nice to be able to hardcast Metamorph if I want to.

Just curious what your general game plan is. It looks like the stax elements are relatively light (Smokestack, Braids, Cabal Minion, Contamination + Bitterblossom, and Strip Mine / Wasteland + Crucible of Worlds). Is that enough to lock people? A lot of the rest of it looks more like black good stuff. So, is the end goal going infinite with Oona and Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth, with a plan B of going beat down?

I've enjoyed supplementing my monoblack stax strategy with discard effects like Sadistic Hypnotist and Words of Waste. I see you also play Sadistic Sacrament. I was going to recommend you play similar cards. One of my fondest EDH memories is my opponent saying, "If I can just draw into my answer" to my secured Contamination lock, to which I cast Sadistic Sacrament and assured him he had no answers. But yeah, definitely look into repeatable discard. It's been great for me. Nobody's pointed out the elephant in the room, being Braids in your deck, so I'll assume everyone knows you know it's technically banned (or she'd be my commander). Great card- shouldn't be banned.

I am "light" on the Stax package, granted. But this is just casual and what I run does soft lock most of the decks I play against.

The goal is to soft lock the table an go to the head with some of the bigger critters or just buzz around their face with faeries from Oona/Bitterblossom. Its more of just an "annoyance" then the traditional Stax builds.

I have gone infinite with either Oona or Exsanguinate before though.



Edit: And yes, Black Braids is banned but our table doesn't agree with the ban so I run her. We also still play Tuck as well.

+1 Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, Hate the art, but sounds good hittin 2 perms on casting.

So, Newlamog SUCKED!! Played 3-4 games an everytime I wished it was the Clique. So out he gos an back in gos the Clique.
Also finally got my hands on a Liliana of the Veil.

Cut some of the "Big Black fat" an Sacrament for infinte Mana.
Makes perfect sense to me, lock them down with Stax, combo off with Oona, Death Cloud, Exsanguinate.

Just a "bump".....

Anyone building a EdH deck can at one point in time realize they might have become " deck blind" and not see obvious inclusions.

That is why I'm bumping. Any glaring mistakes I'm missing?

I have tried the Muck and for some reason I didn't care for it. I couldn't put a finger on it, just didn't like it.
Boon is such a surprise card, that I can't take it out.

+1 Corpse Dance, FINALLY got ahold of a NM one. Absolutely love this card, even if it doesn't work out like I want, it will still be ran. It's my deck, so there! Haha.

+1 Sidisi, Undead Vizier , this is a change that I have been thinkin of doin for awhile. I love the flavor of the Demon, but Sidisi just drops the curve abit.
