The deck fairs relatively well 1-on-1, despite getting off to pretty slow starts, but it struggles in multiplayer since there are no big plays I can pull off. I know they're a good amount of cards that would be solid upgrades for the deck (e.g. Mana Drain, Cryptic Command, Ajani Vengeant, etc.), but I'm asking for more general direction. Do I have too many counters? Not enough lands? Not enough acceleration? Does the deck lack direction? I want the deck to play as a normal control deck that can stop my opponents from attacking me, letting me set up a sloid board state that overwhelms my opponents, but I'm not sure how well that's happening here. Any suggestions, even for specific cards, would be much appreciated. Thanks!
I've found that Numot gets a lot of hate, something Ruhan doesn't really get. Two or three counters during the course of a game to break combos and huge plays are usually enough.
A general that wipes off 2 lands per hit, ensuring his opponent cannot possibly recover, IS SURE to draw every ounce of hate. That said, if it's 1-v-1, you can play one-sided sweepers, like Divine Reckoning, Earthquake effects.
Counterspells have this psychological effect on people. When you play too many, people will play around it, or even play decks that beat it. This is why you may get aimed at for "literally countering every play possible". It's a feel bad. For me, I prefer to pack in as few counters as possible. But that's my playstyle.
Like the poster above, I also recommend having an alternate commander you can use. When I built my Numot deck after the second game people targeted me or asked me to play something else.
If the plan is to win by controlling and then an enormous creature what about some things for Double Strike like Fireshrieker? It gets the damage in quicker and allows Numot to take out 4 lands.

I think about the only way to not get Numot hated off the board immediately or have the game turn into archenemy is to tell people from the start that you use Numot for the colors and as a beatstick, you dont run MLD, and you only take out problematic lands if it becomes necessary. Then live up to those words, because the first time you take out two random lands because you could, people will remember that instead of all of the other times you didnt.
