Input is welcome.
This deck has tons of combos, synergies, and interactions so it is loads of fun to play.
It has strong aggro and combo options. Make sure you check out the combo section.
*Note: expensive cards like mishra's workshop, imperial recruiter, and gauntlet of might are not essential at all to this deck. The 'cards I wish I had room for' section might give you some ideas on what to put in their place.
The goblins are completely artifact based.
goblin welder is pretty much the best creature ever printed, and insanely good in this deck.
squee, goblin nabob is insane card draw with the general, not to mention skullclamp.
kiki jiki is crazy good with so many creatures in the deck, not to mention the combos.
slobad is there for protection. He's also a sac outlet if lifeline is in play.
goblin matron fetches goblin recruiter (or kiki jiki) and...
goblin recruiter fetches the other 5 goblins in your deck next turn.
I don't like the 2 Gauntlets because they're group-huggy. I'd prefer Caged Sun over either.
What is Dualcaster for?
Have you thought about including Stax elements like Winter Orb?
Platinum Angel, Heat Shimmer, Insurrection, Warp World seem random. What are your reasons for inclusion?
Thanks for the great input. Those are good questions and I made over a dozen changes, including most of the cards you mentioned.
It is much more artifact heavy and it has more combos and synergies after the changes.
Looks solid, might try and make it, barring some obvious budget constraints (lookin' at you, Mishra's Workshop >_>)
A couple of things that I noticed while looking through:
-Mycosynth Lattice isn't actually in your decklist
-Windswept Heath?
-You don't have Bottle Gnomes. I don't know why, the card is great, and can be easily recurred for hefty lifegain aggressive just can't get out from under.
Questions:
-Why not Liquimetal Coating for some extra redundancy? I figure you've already thought of it, given that it's in the precon, just curious about it's removal.
-Same with Myr Battlesphere, why was he removed? Pretty solid on his own and makes dudes on ETB. Seems perfect for Daretti.
-On a similar note Myr Turbine/Myr Matrix? They just make dudes for Daretti
-Also curious of the exclusion of Grim Monolith. It doesn't go infinite, but it's still solid and can just be sacced when it's outlasted its usefulness. Better than Mana Vault in my opinion, except that it doesn't facilitate a turn two Daretti.
Thanks for the input django. I made a few changes.
There's tons more cards I'd like to put in if I had room but I don't. Feel free to offer suggestions on what to take out for some of the cards you mentioned.
Also, any reason Hellkite Tyrant isn't in the deck? With Mycosynth Lattice out, he's a great target to swipe off of an opponent's permanents and close out the game. However, if you run this in a meta with Bribery, do this at your own peril.

you think that a list similar to yours but a litle less combo (for a more casual meta) could still pull its weight?
Totally! Although in all fairness, I haven't playtested the current decklist yet but it seems pretty solid and after playing arcum dagsson for years, I know how strong artifact decks can be. My initial decklist had warp world (a great card in a deck that has so few non-permanents) and insurrection, those might be good in your meta.
Also, any reason Hellkite Tyrant isn't in the deck? With Mycosynth Lattice out, he's a great target to swipe off of an opponent's permanents and close out the game. However, if you run this in a meta with Bribery, do this at your own peril.
It's always nice to see someone say what to take out for their card suggestions. Thanks for that.
The smokestack is a great suggestion and I think that I will have to do some playtesting before I know how good it will be. I'm not sure that I can consistently produce enough permanents to withstand its effect. I can't rely on getting myr battlesphere out every game. But I will check it out. The smokestack would be better if the deck also had winter orb, sphere of resistance, etc but we'll see.
My meta has the occasional bribery but lots of cards that steal and clone creatures. I'm thinking that if I hit with hellkite tyrant, I'll steal a mana rock or two. And then someone will hit me once and destroy me. It's too much of a risk.
Consider Chancellor of the Forge as well, if you're worried of getting enough sac fodder out.

Considering you wrote the Arcum Dagsson primer, how do you think this deck compares in power level? I like to optimize my decks and make them as strong as possible, but I don't really like to use "broken" or "cheap" generals (Scion + Hermit druid, Sharuum combo, Captain Sisay, etc.)

It's a little early to tell but I think this will be a really good deck. And I also think that arcum would smash it to pieces the vast majority of the time. Arcum is a tier 1 blue general that tutors for whatever it needs. Daretti is good, but he's not THAT good.
But who knows, perhaps in time they will make more red artifact tutors and daretti could knock some of the tier 1 generals off their throne.
You missed one of your combos; Scrap Mastery + Codex Shredder can be made infinite at the drop of a hat.
Have you considered Salvaging Station, Krark-Clan-Ironworks, and all that noise? KCI makes the above combo into a very easily achieved win-con, Salvaging Station goes infinite really well with Karn (tap a Mox Opal, Darksteel Citadel, etc for mana then animate it with Karn, untapping Salvaging Station to reanimate it and repeat) and about a trillion other things. KCI makes all of them work much better as well, and gives you a nice sac outlet to feed into recursion engines like Daretti, Goblin Welder, and Trash for Treasure.

I knew about that combo but I figured if I wrote something like scrap mastery + codex shredder + mycosynth lattice + lots of mana rocks that it would make me look like a noob, lol. If I ever decide to put in krark clan ironworks then the combo would look a lot better.

I like KCI but I suspect the other ones would be dead draws most of the time.
You're right Laudani. Kiki jiki is awesome and I had it in there initially with a nifty goblin package that included goblin recruiter to put the other 5 goblins on top of the library, starting with goblin ringleader which would draw you the other four. I took out kiki, recruiter, and ringleader to keep to the artifact theme better but I'm having second thoughts. I would love to take out 3 things to put in kiki, ringleader, and recruiter. I'll think on it.
I like KCI but I suspect the other ones would be dead draws most of the time.
That might be the case! Let me make an argument for them first.
I'd still give them a try. Karn is one of the most subtly useful cards ever printed, going ham with stuff like Mycosynth or Liquimetal Coating (both of which also work with Vandalblast effects, giving you a nice run of synergistic cards that are good in their own right.) Less well-known about Karn is his defensive properties; afraid of somebody wrathing the board? They doing it anyway? Animate all of their rocks. They abusing a Mana Crupt? Kill it. Resolve a Birthing Pod and not activate it immediately? Lol, summoning sick. Opponents Voltron? Karns ability to turn equipment into creatures causes them to lose their ability to equip, and detaches them. Stupid Spine of Ish Sah sitting dead on your field? Its a 7/7, you are killing everybody with a beater that self-recurs.
Karn is amazing, doing sick stuff left and right.
As for Salvaging Station, I've seen it do too much work in Sharuum decks not to try it. It lets you recklessly sack any sort of trinket for massive value. Need more mana? tap Mox Opal, sac it, reaniamte it, tap it, sac it. That Mox (with KCI and SS) just got you 6 mana. Want to draw cards? Sac a trinket to trading post, reanimate it. Even better, tap Sensei's Divining Top, sac it in response, reanimate it. Free card! Voyager Staff works really nicely with it as well, getting you major value off your ETBs and messing up other peoples combos.
Station, however, I think is far weaker than the others included here, and I would only include it if you are willing to throw in a few more trinkets non top of the above cards. Things like Chromatic Star that guarantee card advantage are nice, because Daretti+Star+SS means you can reanimate a target, draw a card, and actually advance board presence.
Plus, all the unwinding clock and clock of omens effects, yelling back to memories of Arcum, work stupidly well with a Station deck.
That might be the case! Let me make an argument for them first
You made great points but I think I'll keep out the station and KCI for now. There's about 20 combos up there and that's plenty. I do want this deck to have an aggro presence as well.
I decided to take out phyrexian furnace for kiki jiki. There's always something abusive that kiki can copy and the fact that he has haste is icing on the cake.
i tried ringleader for a long time (norin as commander) and usually found it useful only to assemble an infinite combo made with goblins only (skirk prospector, lightning crafter, kiki-jiki, mirror breaker) when i played goblin recruiter. since i got rid of the first two, i couldn't justify the tempo loss (compared to tutoring goblin recruiter instead of the goblin i needed, instead of those above with goblin ringleader on top) and the hate i gained because my opponents knew i was getting 4 useful goblins next turn.
moreover, it's a terrible topdeck. cut it once and never regretted it.

Thanks Buddha. This is very helpful feedback because I was strongly considering putting ringleader and recruiter back in. But I will leave them out now.
I've played a slightly tweaked version of the pre-con recently, and I love Darettti. Absolutely adore the game play he creates. Just loads of fun everywhere.
Recurring Wurmcoil Engine is just so strong.
I don't think you need Helkite Igniter. its cute, but do you really need a 7 mana 5/5 creature that you have to hard-cast naturally?
Why the fetch-lands? I don't think I see where those are going. Instead, try the Urza-tron. It won't happen often, but a recursive engine of Expedition Map can make it work at some point.

Yeah he's a blast. I played a slightly tweaked version too and now I'm waiting for a bunch of cards to come in to complete this version.

I want a significant aggro option and he's the best that I was able to come up with. With mycosynth lattice out he can one-shot people pretty easy. He will rarely be only a 5/5 creature and there's also mimic vat and feldon of the third watch to cheat it into play. With cards like mimic vat, feldon of the third watch, rings of brighthearth, kiki jiki, and various untapping cards, I could attack with multiple igniters and increase the damage on whichever ones get through.
The fetchlands are great with crucible. And with rings of brighthearth, a fetchland will get me two mountains. And they thin my deck which gives me more value in what I draw. And when you have lands like Mishra's workshop and thespian's stage (to clone it), you won't be using expedition map on urza lands too often.
This deck has tons of combos, synergies, and interactions so it is loads of fun to play.
