Recently I had gotten into magic online to play edh, and I had found that a large portion of the games are 1v1. So I whipped up a budget wort deck that I had kept editing each day to change and build into more competitive deck. In multiplayer it does alright, until I am seen as a threat and then I'm instakilled because I don't have many creatures. I feel that I need to get some fetches for it / shockland because they're tutorable with things targeting forest's but they don't untap with certain cards that untap all your basic lands.
The decklist is pretty straightforward, ramp, copy ramp, thin out your deck by having all your lands on the field, and then try to cast big spells and copy them.

Azuza- Perfect for mana gyser, don't play mana flare though.
Kaarthus - Was able to kill his karthus and hit him with a large devil's play, burnt to death before he was able to cast him again
Have you considered Ring of Three Wishes over the Portal? It's one less to cast and activate. How often are you activating your Portal 4+ times in a single game?

Honestly, I'd run both of these, and anything else that says "As an additional cost, <do something>". That part is omitted when you conspire, so Wild Guess becomes "Discard one card, draw four new cards".
If Wort has trouble being cast, I've found my deck to burn out too quickly. As such, I've added in other doubler effects to help get that burn through.
I've also found that a dash of land destruction helps curb the opponents tempo and allows you to get that burn through.
