MTG Salvation

Hey There MTG Fans!,

- This Commander deck is based around its general Sharuum the Hegemon and sticks to a tribal 'Artification' theme. Just so I don't take flak later; under my house rules some cards such as Tolarian Academy are allowed in the deck so long as they are not tutored for and are cast naturally. Likewise I am super happy they unbanned Metalworker.

- The deck is built for any size of multiplayer and doesn't seem to excel or be hindered by any particular group size. I don't see it very often but sometimes a gruul player will pack too much artifact hate for me recoup from; the only other thing to watch out for is Aura Shards. The deck can unfortunately also be fairly slow at times and is not really viable for 1 on 1 play.

- The play style is what ever you want it too be, the card synergy is very high and there are many different win conditions. Typically, you will be laying down some acceleration followed by whatever artifact jank you can cast first without getting too hated on; followed by your general to bring back whatever died during the first few turns. After the early game plays you can work on setting up game ending combo wombo or continue to manipulate the board with tricks. Admittedly I am not preferential to the combo style of play in EDH and typically shun massive or blowout combo's; however this deck is all about having fun with the full potential power of artifacts and thus I have done nothing to curb the power level of aside from excluding tinker and other tutors. The more different and the more fun the synergies and combos that can be had, the better!

- The deck has a number of choice artifact board wipes to help keep the field kosher and are mostly themed around things like Ethersworn Canonist which punishes everything except for artifacts. This deck is extremely fun to play with and can be particularly dangerous to play against; the threat level of artifacts are low in comparison to other people playing big fatties or whatnot, right up until you land the last piece of a combo at which point its too late for opponents to stop you.

Phyrexia's Core is a good sac outlet if you want to sac something to recur it. Ex. Duplicant and Magister Sphinx. Also, replaying stuff will let you make more copies with Mirrorworks.

Unwinding Clock + Vedalken Orrery makes every turn your turn. Plus they are both pretty good by themselves. Untapping artifacts to reuse them is always good. Flashing things in is good for obvious reasons.

Mind Stone is a good rock that can draw you a card if you need it. It also can be brought back after you have used it to draw a card.

Blinkmoth Urn can generate you insane amounts of mana. It can help your opponents some, but it still will put you miles ahead.

Trading Post can be used to get back creatures from your graveyard or draw you cards. You can also sacrifice an artifact creature to do either.

Sanctum Gargoyle can get back any of your artifacts that go in to your graveyard. It also is pretty nifty with the previously mentioned Trading Post.

Magistrate's Scepter can be used to take extra turns. It works well with Voltaic Key and Unwinding Clock.

I was going to suggest Solemn Simulacrum because he's fun to sac and recur, but you don't play any basics so he's pretty useless to you.

Disciple of the Vault is pretty good with the whole Thopter Foundry combo. It also can be a wrath deterrent.

All of those cards you mention are very on point, some I have over looked, others have been in the deck previously, and a couple are new to me all together.

-Mind stone is pretty good and the cantrip is nice, but I think overall it is slightly subpar to the mana rocks currently in there.
-Sanctum Gargoyle is also good but I've tried to avoid adding abilities similar to sharuum's, it is indeed sexy with trading post.
-Was surprised I hadn't seen Blinkmoth Urn before now; this is a very flavourful card and you're right about the one sidedness but, I'm thrifty about giving any advantage to opponents so I'll have to pass on this one for now.
-Disciple of the vault was originally in the deck but I cut him at one point for not being brown bordered...My meta is also pretty reckless and has enough lifegain for the deterrent effect to be nulled as well.

-Unwinding clock and V Orrery are just amazing, not sure why I over looked them in the past but they are in!
-Trading post is janky for sure and you mentioned about sac outlets which I think this deck is fairly lacking, 2 for 1, its going in!
-Likewise, Phyrexia's Core will find its way in.
-Magistrate's Scepter; well since my dreams of infinite 'tim' damage has died, I shall replace that hope with infinite turns.., muhaha!
-Solemn was originally in the deck during conception and then when I put the final deck together realized ironically as you point out, that there are no basics for him to work with. However I think that's about to change..

-Barren Moor : I will miss the cycler set, they are always great as late game cantrips but, I need to make room somewhere.

-Dromar's Cavern : Old tech is old, time to go.
-Temple of the False God : Tired of getting screwed with this and stuck on 4 lands, its slowly making its way out of many of my decks that don't directly have a +1 reason for using it.
-Darksteel Plate : An EDH staple to be assured but, this is already in virtually every deck I own so I'm cutting it from here to add more creative artifacts.
-Staff of Nin : My dreams of infinite combo 'ping'ing everything to death haven't been panning out, time for this to go.
-Lodestone Golem : Stax isn't really my thing anyway, no love lost in cutting this one.
-Metallurgeon : Sad to see this one go but he rarely makes a noteworthy impact, most times only saving one other artifact during an inevitable board wipe.
-Coercive Portal : Doing more damage to me than good with the deck being so non-creature permanent heavy.
