(This deck was inspired by Nodrog's deck list found Here)
Since the dawn of EDH one deck type has been my favorite, the tabooed stax deck. No other archtype has been more fun for me to play and given me as many stories than stax. However I always seemed to have the same issue with the deck. The colors just seems off. Nicol bolas- gave me cards like Land Equilibrium and plenty of token makers but not enough wipes for me to work. nath of the gilt-leaf- Naturally makes tokens and has plenty of ways to deny opponents but didn't feel like my type of deck. Teysa, Orzhov Scion- I thought for the longest time it was my stax deck. Offered white cards to blow up problems and plenty of stax effects. Issue I had was I didn't feel like I had 99 cards worth playing in stax. Do I add red, green, or blue?
It basically came down to what color do I feel most as home with in stax?
Green gives tons of tokens and plenty of ramp options but that's part of the reason I stopped playing nath
Blue gives me Land Equilibrium and plenty of nasty tricks
However, I went with Red because cards like Goblin Welder and Blood Moon are something I just love playing.
After that it was time to pick a general, there are only 3 Dega generals.
Kaalia- Something that people will target me before I even play her. I have no angels, demons, dragons in the deck so that was a clear no
Oros, the Avenger- Came to mind however his ability destroys a lot of the creatures in this deck rather than helping me.
Tariel is an odd choice, he rarely gets cast due to his high cost and often is just a wall that takes things at random. Entirely possible to not get anything worth while, however you always get something to sac. So I went with him.
Plateu/Scrubland/Badlands
Mire/Flats/Mesa
Land tax
Chains of mephstoples
Idolyic tutor
Myr turbine
Krenko, mob boss
Ajani Venjant
Catastrophe
Boom/Bust
Grand Abolisher
Price of Glory
Mentor of the meek
Magus of the Moon
Yawgmoth's will
Retubution of the meek
Death cloud
Abyssal Gatekeeper
Seal of cleansing
Wildfire
Blind obedience
Torpor orb
Hero's downfall
Gilded Lotus
Serra Ascendant
High market
balancing act
Bloodgift demon
Reflecting pool
vault of the archangel
lingering souls
Greater garadon
Erebos, god of the dead
Seige gang commander
Norn's Annex
No Mercy
Desolation angel
Keldon Firebombers
I want to add duals and maybe 3 fetches to make it more consistant but don't want to take out basics because of how good ruination and blood moon are, probably will take out the filter lands/reliquary tower. Desolation angel and Firebombers I took out of main board and added life gain but they may return if I need more LD.
Suggestions?
Hey guys so I've actually moved on from commander on to 60 card decks so I don't have any commander decks.
Anyway I've started my own gameplay channel in which I play games (Magic also)
I actually think Oros could work fairly well if you added more white token producers. Mobilization and Sacred Mesa come to mind. Also, you wouldn't always be activating his ability. Only if it was advantageous to you.
How has Descent Into Madness been working out for you? Be careful not to over stax yourself. Getting out of control with these effects is a good way of losing. Speaking of which, have you been able to play around the Contamination lock?
It looks like you're going with more of a token theme here. I also noticed that you have Graveborn Muse instead of Bloodgift Demon. Maybe you might be interested in some kind of zombie subtheme for card advantage? Grave Titan and Cemetery Reaper could be some value for Graveborn Muse.
It probably wouldn't hurt to find some space for more removal. Some stuff you might like that's not in my list: Mortify, Dreadbore, Disenchant and (maybe) Merciless Eviction. I actually like Swords to Plowshares more than Path to Exile in this kind of deck, because, from a resource denial perspective, I'd rather them have some life than fix their mana base. How has Chaos Warp been working out for you? I took it out because I didn't like its unpredictable nature, but it's definitely strong, especially for red.
You definitely need more mana rocks. This list is only running 35 lands so having rocks picking up the slack is important. More importantly, you're playing Contamination and Blood Moon in the same deck, so you need every opportunity to play around persistent land screw. Fellwar Stone and Chromatic Lantern might be helpful.
If you're playing an equipment package, I'd recommend finding space for Sword of War and Peace. Lifegain and punishing opponents for cards in hand. Seems to fit the theme of this deck.

Descent has been pretty good so far. Going crazy with tokens has made it hard for stax effects to really hurt me too much.
Contamination has never hurt me. I have enough token makers where it doesn't matter to me. Also bloodghast and reassembling skeleton work around it well
Graveborn is in over bloodgift simply because it comes down a turn earlier. I'm not looking for a theme other than stax but bloodgift is on my test board if I need more draw
So far I haven't had issues with too much spot removal. Sunforger acts as spot removal so I don't run out. I was thinking Hero's Downfall over dreadbore since it's an instant. Chaos warp hasn't hurt. It usually goes into a land or instant in my playgroup, although it did turn Terastodon into terastodon before. I run path simply because of how often I blow up lands. It rarely matters for me to ramp up opponents.
I have catastrophe on my test list and ravages will be in the list if it's reprinted at not 1204124 dollars. I don't want things that hurt my artifacts so I'm ahead of ramp while others are not.
I actually forgot to put talisman of indulgence on my thread, it's been good since t's a turn earler and I love talismans more than signents.
With war and peace I don't like it too much since I find life total irrelevant in edh. Doesn't help that sire of insanity and uba mask make hands nothing so I don't bother with it.
