I've finally got my Azami, Lady of Scrolls into a reasonably stable form that I'm quite happy with, so I figured I'd post it! This is a budget list, so below the list itself I'll list some things I don't have yet, but I know would be good.
coat of arms - auto include, more counterspells opposition is better than that wizard by far and personally with my azami deck I don't think it's nearly as good without the combo without that you def need either CoA or DoD or some other anthem effect to win also more draw spells if azami gets tucked.
I'm highly considering Door of Destinies/Coat of Arms right now, since without Mind over Matter, games play out where I take a huge advantage, then struggle to start killing people, and everyone turns on me and I have a hard time winning the resulting 3v1. I'm also trying to get a blatant thievery and Memnarch to give some lategame power and Arcanis the Omnipotent as just very strong card-draw even without Azami.
As for Opposition - I'll need to think about it. I don't really use Aphetto Grifter's ability that often, since you have to use it preemptively to prevent an attack from a creature that might not have been going to attack you at all. And in that case, I'd rather have the grifter since it draws cards. But only needing to use one creature is a pretty big edge.
I've chosen to go into a wizard tribal theme with this deck, with 21 wizards not including Azami, and several other wizards-matter guys (those being Aphetto Grifter, Sage of Fables, Stonybrook Banneret, Vedalken Aethermage, Voidmage Prodigy.
Game-plan
-survive the early game with things like Fatespinner, Propaganda, Serendib sorcerer, or resetting the board with Ixidron, Evacuation, etc
-Get myself set-up and start drawing extra cards, Azami being the card draw along with protection like Rayne, Academy Chancellor, Neurok Stealthsuit, Glen Elendra Archmage
-then play a strong control game having lots of extra cards = extra answers, then find one of the few win-cons, the best ones being Rite of Replication, Psychosis Crawler, Master of Waves, Empyrial plate, and to a lesser extent Aeon Chronicler.
Also, I've chosen to exclude Patron Wizard and Mind Over Matter + Laboratory Maniac because of my local meta; these cards sit in the sideboard and come in from time to time.
