I've been building this Shattergang Brothers Stax list for a while now. What can I say - I'm one of those people. I love stax.
I've attempted to give the deck a very tight focus. Acceleration into Stax supported by tokens. The curve is low as I often play 1 v 1.
At the moment I'd like more stax like effects and a better land base. I run a lot of basics due to my nonbasic land hate but I feel I could run more nonbasic lands.
This has been a lot of fun to play. I'd love to hear your card suggestions and any fresh ideas.
Out: 1 Uba Mask (too niche in most cases. often there are times cards will be put into hand and not drawn.) 1 Descent into Madness (too slow.) 1 Sphere of Resistance (often hurts me too much - especially in combination with desolation. doesn't permanently hurt my opponent enough.) 1 Imperious Perfect (don't like having to tap a creature and pay mana for a token.) 1 Trading Post (have shied away from artifacts. no goblin welder in the deck. too slow with my stax.) 1 Goblin Assault (forces my commander to attack.) 1 Rakka Mar (don't like having to tap a creature and pay mana for a token). 1 Krenko, Mob Boss (fewer red sources in the deck and he RR in his mana cost. he is next to make his way back in the deck however.) 1 Kazandu Tuskcaller (too slow. too much investment.) 1 Ant Queen (the idea was to have a late game mana sink for tokens with token support. what we need is something that makes tokens for free early - this does neither) 1 Purphoros, God of the Forge (a good alternate win condition but with fewer token generators is worth less.) 1 Desolation (hurt me a lot more than it hurt others. price of glory is better.) 1 Devestation (could come back but destroying all of my mana rocks has been happening quite often so this plan isn't great. decree of pain is more versatile.) 1 Fire Diamond (coming into play tapped hinders it too much.) 1 Moss Diamond (above.) 1 Charcoal Diamond (above.) 1 Jund Panorama (too much of an investment.) 3 Forest (cut.) 3 Mountain (cut.)
Try out Death cloud, it's so good in token decks. Pox is also nice
Also take bloodghast of the maybe list and put him on the main list with reassembling skeleton. They're fantastic in stax.

Hey guys so I've actually moved on from commander on to 60 card decks so I don't have any commander decks.
Anyway I've started my own gameplay channel in which I play games (Magic also)

Thanks mate.
Reassembling skeleton and bloodghast were hard to cut. They're fast and work so well with stax. My thinking was that everytime I include a creature like them I make Primal Vigor/Doubling Season/Parallel Lives worse.
Explain to me the god hand with Pox and Death Cloud. BBB is hard but I already have gravepact so it should be OK.
Bloodghast + Skullclamp is the best it can get. I personally don't care for the token doublers because you'll just have slightly more creatures. Not much synergy other than just having more. Youre token producers already do that.
Imagine having 4-5 mana rocks on field and death clouding for 5-6. Not only did you armageddon/wrath/mind twist everyone, you still have mana and probably creatures on field since you make so many tokens. Every stax deck I've made loves death cloud

They are amazing and I'd put them in most decks that can run them

First set of changes have been made. Deck feels a lot more consistent. The token support suite just wasn't working for me so I've added more stax and more token generators for consistency. Primal Command has gone up in my estimation. I would really like Ancient Tomb and Grim Monolith as the acceleration is key to victory. I would like to add a few more nonbasic lands like Gemstone Mine, fetches etc. It is getting increasingly difficult to cut cards but my next cuts will likely be... Purphoros, Mind stone, ant queen, underworld connections and sphere of resistance and maybe a land.
To combat opponents graveyards, perhaps include a Bojuka Bog, Nihil Spellbomb, and/or Tormod's Crypt; Bojuka Bog being the easiest inclusion with -1 Swamp, +1 Bog.
I am also a fan of Goblin Welder to manipulate your, as well as opponents, artifacts.
Price of Glory & Citadel of Pain work very well in this style of deck. I often caught my opponents not taking damage from the Citadel, and even won a league match simply because my last opponent forgot to tap out all of his lands before he passed. Good times.

This deck looks super fun. Well... at least for me. I'm unsure if my playgroup will let it live more than a week.
But still, I'm curious to hear if you have any updates, or even just talk about how it's playing out.
So I've been playing 1 v 1 against a Derevi deck which abuses ETB abilities of creatures. I made some changes that resulted in a better matchup.. finally. You can see the changes which you can see below:
So there are fewer lands as I hadn't really taken into account how many mana rocks I was using. A good rule of thumb is to deduct from 40 lands n-half the amount of mana rocks you're using [ in my case 40 - (11/2) ].
I have fewer stax and token generators. I have instead added a bombs section, planeswalkers and a lot more card draw/card quality/tutoring. So instead of trying to accelerate to a board position very early where I am in complete control I have chosen to use my stax as a hurdle to slow my opponent down which enables me to gain either (a) card advantage (b) tutor for a winning stax combination (c) play a bomb or planeswalker for inevitability.
To combat opponents graveyards, perhaps include a Bojuka Bog, Nihil Spellbomb, and/or Tormod's Crypt; Bojuka Bog being the easiest inclusion with -1 Swamp, +1 Bog.

I really like Bojuka. I haven't had the need to exile a graveyard yet but that seems like an easy inclusion.

I also 3rd the Goblin Welder. He's a staple of anything red with the important artifacts (like Smokestack, Torpor Orb, etc.).
Best way to kill someone on an empty board i've found, and is very reliable.
It just blows someone up if you want to hit them with shattergang. I do it on a regular basis.
