Thousands of years before the Brothers' War, the Elder Dragons were engaged in a conflict that tore the fabric of countless planes. Nicol Bolas emerged victorious, though there were survivors other than himself, and during the crescendo of the war, became a planeswalker.
Hi everyone. I've been playing Magic since Innistrad, and I consider myself a skilled player and competent deckbuilder. This used to be a Jeleva deck, but it was kind of weak because it didn't have any real win conditions. I decided to change it to a Nicol Bolas Grixis control list, where he is a win condition. My goal is to make this the very best Grixis deck in the format, so comments and suggestions are welcome!
so how do you win? swinging with Jeleva 60 times isn't going to work, and planeswalkers aren't really going to cut it either as your deck is set up. Cherry picking just expensive cards is sorta not really working for you--looks silly on cockatrice.
I have a Jeleva deck and stubbornly didn't break it down. Once you figure out how to cast major threat spells with her--even consistently you learn that after turn 5/6/7 no one cares when you cast army of the damned until you do it two or three times and can swing with zombies same turn.
I fused the spell elements similar to the posted list but with threats to actually do things (like the cipher spells), and added a bunch of voltron elements (including hatred, and cards that allow for multiple attack steps), so that Jeleva is always a threat and never swinging for 'nothing except 1 damage' be it swinging for 21, or casting some crazy spell.
