No dual lands or fetches, but any other ideas are welcome and greatly appreciated.
Deck Strategy: dump fat, bring back fat asap, slowdown/soft lock game with fat, swing, swing, swing charoo. Abuse citp/leave play triggers of general and other fat to free up the board for more swing, swing, swing charoo.
life from the loam is pretty required imo. VS and high market tend to have short lifespans. and intuition sets it up really well. Needless to say, it gets a lot better with fetches...you could run the mirage ones if you're desperate. Also it's great with cycling lands. and also strip mine.
weathered wayfarer is kind of the best thing ever for land-reliant decks. realms uncharted is solid too, especially with lftl.
Personally I usually use my first tutor for intuition, then intuition for lftl + phyrexian tower + VS/cycling/fetch/strip/tolaria west. Then use my next tutor for corpse dance and get killin'.
EDIT: oh yeah, and don't forget gift of immortality. It's kind of a thing for this deck.
Also inkwell leviathan is terrible, cut it. hellkite overlord is ok but doesn't fit here. twisted justice is overpriced, cut it too.
Dropped the refuge lands and some basics for tolaria west, strip mine, phyrexian tower, the cycle lands.
With these changes i feel like i could drop some basic mana accel for something and i feel i am running a lot of reanimation for so few targets. Thoughts on this?
I think you could definitely add more sac outlets for fatties to stop them from getting exiled/reuse their ETB effects. Pattern of Rebirth is awesome with sac outlets and just on its own, since if you have a creature out with it on, people won't want to attack you in fear of you blocking with that creature. Redundancy with Life from the Loam can be found in Crucible of Worlds for cycling lands, strip lands, and lands that sac to get other lands. If you add that, you might want Buried Ruin as well, so you can tutor for Crucible, Buried Ruin, and Eternal Witness with Intuition in case you've drawn Loam or it's been exiled.
Dropped some mana accel for a few more fatties. What I really want this deck to do is cheat bomb creatures into play asap and win from there. With the obv backup plan of child shenanigans.
Any other ideas welcome.
I am running a lot of reanimation spells including my creatures. I like the direction the deck is going.
I like the idea of running Greater Gargadon in Child, that is something I never thought of in mine. I like the concept here, I have been thinking of re-working my Child deck also, but I want to add spell recursion creatures, as I have seen them used to great effect in my meta.
are some suggestions I have gotten. Anything worth dropping for these?
I really like Anthem for late game, Aid is nice for more permanent recursion but I don't really see myself bringing back other permanents to play as a one of outside of my fatties, I have the loam engine for lands and stronghold for my tech critters. But I guess that's a poor excuse to not run something I COULD use.
And primordial is just busted.
Dropped rampant growth for hermit druid.
I like my recursion to have as many uses as possible or fast if you can't tell.
Idk if its okay to bump a thread this old but I wanted to ask what your deck looked like now and how you like it. I've been playing the same style of deck (kind of) since EDH became a thing.
Mine is more centered around constantly reanimating Child of Alara and wiping the board until my opponents resources are depleted and i reanimate something beastly and finish them off. One of the best cards i've played is Attunement. You should try it.
