I think you need at least 35 creatures to take advantage of your general.
I agree with that. the 23 creature list i put up is a working list; both in that i am still working on it, but i am also at work and cannot fully dive into this with bosses wandering around.
i think the deck will have about 20-22 mana producers, 10-12 utility creatures, craterhoof, elesh norn, karametra.
the deck would still function as the original, with less focus on getting living land and more on the draw when you play creature spells and also would need concordant crossroads (which may be good on its own).
Kamahl, Fist of Krosa is so very good teamed up with Karametra. An amazing mana sink, he ends games, whether with all your creatures, or just by himself and that fat stack of Karametra land. I like to keep him in reserve against a board wipe. Nothing like winning the game a turn after a Wrath.
Your going to want to abuse landfall as much as possible because that's the general's theme. Here are some recommendations.
-Vinelasher Kudzu is a great dude that will turn into a beast over time.
-Scute Mob has a similar concept.
-Seer's Sundial is pretty solid card draw.
-Avenger of Zendikar is a must!
-Rampaging Baloths is also crazy in this deck.
-Gazing Gladeheart if lifegain is your thing.
-Admonition Angel if you think you can cast it.
I have been thinking about making Karametra deck. Using mana dork to ramp, enchantment hunting to find living land/nature's revolt, and creature search for either elesh norn or craterhoof behemoth to end the game.

It depends on how fast is your ramp though. Have you consider genesis wave or Eldrazi ?
